Notified About

  • 230 Channing Way Alameda California - Alameda
I'm the Principal of Lincoln Middle School. On 9-28-17 one of my students was hit by a car in the intersection of Channing Way and Robert Davey Jr. Dr. This is a very dangerous intersection and many students cross here on their way to Lincoln. Also, I know several people cross here to get to the bus stop.
  • Street Signs Acknowledged
1-199 Webster Street Tube Oakland, California - Alameda
At all entrances into the city, we are lacking prominently placed signs that clearly indicate the 25 MPH speed limit. As one enters the city from Webster Tube, the signs state the 45 mph speed limit which I think sends the wrong message. This 45 mph speed is assumed by many drivers for some distance as they drive into town. I would request that we work with CalTrans, if necessary, to update this and have all entryways into Alameda clearly message the 25 mph limit to help reduce confusion.
  • 1821 Grand St Alameda, California - Alameda
Traffic Time Bomb: HIbbard Street and Eagle Ave are becoming a cut through for traffic heading down Clement Ave. to Park St. Speeding cars turn from Buena Vista to Eagle to Grand to avoid the left turn bottleneck at Buena Vista and Eagle. They drive above the speed limit on Hibbard, make a wide right turn onto Eagle Ave. into oncoming traffic. Cars also come the other direction on Hibbard from the new marina houses and speed up to Buena Vista or turn too fast on Eagle Ave. A THREE-WAY stop at the T-Intersection and/or speed bumps on this one block stretch of Hibbard and/or Eagle Ave. would REALLY help. City of Alameda please do something before there is a fatality here.
  • Corner Of Sherman Street And Santa Clara Avenue Alameda, California - Alameda
At the minimum, 4-way stop signs are needed at this intersection. At the maximum, signal lights. Most cost effective and adequately efficient would be the 4-way signs which would lessen the chance of a traffic accident at this point. There is major cross traffic on Sherman at commute times and the visuality is definitely compromised crossing Santa Clara.
  • Grand Street At Otis Drive Alameda, California - Alameda

I am requesting a change in the traffic light and/or the crosswalk signal, at the intersection at Grand Street and Otis Drive. It is extremely dangerous to be a pedestrian through this intersection. I am a very aware and attentive adult when crossing this street, and I am frequently encountering near misses from people making left turns onto Otis Drive from Grand Street. It is a game of Frogger every time, starting and stopping, and dodging the cars to get across the street.

The majority of people traveling on Grand Street toward the bay, turn left at Otis. I am suggesting a left turn signal with a red/yellow/green arrow to be separate from the straight green signal to allow the traffic to flow more smoothly onto Otis as well as to allow pedestrians a fear-free way to cross the street without having to dodge the oncoming left turners. Many, many children are crossing at this notoriously bad intersection every day to get to, and from, Wood Middle School (which now houses 4th and 5th graders as well).

Another option would be to have "pedestrian only" time through this intersection with all lights staying red through the duration of the crosswalk timer.
    Thank you for your consideration.

  • Street Signs Archived
Stanton And Buena Vista Alameda, California - Alameda
Can a stop sign or a traffic signal be put up in Stanton and buena vista. I'm trying to cross the street with my kids and no one is stopping for the cross walk. Over the last two weeks I've nearly been run over several times.
  • Tynan Ave And Mariner Square Dr Alameda, California - Alameda
Pedestrian crosswalk needed at this intersection. Pedestrians from AC transit bus stop at Webster St. and Stargell Ave have no safe way to cross Mariner Square Dr. into the Marina Village business park. Cost Plus World Market recently relocated to this business park with over 300 employees now commuting here daily.
  • 1435 Webster Street Alameda, California - Alameda
This lot has been a neighborhood eyesore for many years. When this has been reported to Code Enforcement, it is moved to their internal files and listed as "received." The situation is worsening day by day. The lot is littered with liquor bottles, trash and debris. The City granted the developer entitlements and waivers. Something more needs to be done than simply stamping the report, "received."
  • 2101 Shore Line Drive Alameda California - Alameda
Please install flashing pedestrian lights across Shore Line Drive at the South Shore Center intersection, west of the Post Office. A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by an SUV here. People need to safely get to the beach from the shopping center.
  • Webster St Alameda 94501, United States - Alameda
This needs to be cleaned up and removed!
  • 3325 Fernside Boulevard Alameda, California - Alameda
The speeding on Fernside is out of control. I recently got hit pulling out of our side street. Where are the speed traps? They used to sit around this corner regularly and traffic was much slower then. Also, cars coming onto the island via the High St bridge (presumably heading to Bay Farm) that catch the red light to turn left onto Fernside, then shoot straight down High, make a left onto Bayo Vista, and then a left onto Monte Vista, to then go right on Fernside and beat the traffic. Problem is my kids were almost hit twice, I have had close calls many times, as have neighbors. They FLY through our neighborhood trying to beat everyone to Fernside. Saving maybe one minute? It's so dangerous. What can be done?
  • 800 Atlantic Ave Alameda, California - Alameda
There is the smell of fire coming from the Jane Sweeney park again this am at around the 800 block of Atlantic where homeless enter in through the cut fence. There is also many piles of garbage left that include but are not limited to clothing, gasoline cans, alcohol bottles, and human waste. The homeless encampments have grown now to over 25 and still growing creating a safety issue and a health hazard. and the camps need to be cleaned up after the requirement of a 72 notice and persons there should be directed to facilities that are able to help them if they are interested.
