Barnett Street between Willard and West Elm Streets has an impossible parking situation when it snows. We have three apartment buildings on Barnett and only on-street parking. Everyone leaves for work by 8:30am and returns starting at 3pm. We desperately need the city of NH to send a plow during these hours to clean!! What then happens because the city refuses to do this, everyone illegally parks when they return making the situation a nightmare. We all need to work together during a storm including the neighbors who do NOT clear the sidewalks in front of their houses making it difficult and dangerous to walk to the bus stop. This is my second year here with this awful situation that can easily be fixed if we all work together.
357-383 West Rock Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Westville
This is a heavily traveled block. We desperately need the city to start towing cars or institute a parking ban on the street so that it can be adequately plowed. The entrance to W. Rock, from Whalley is down to one lane with banks so high that two-sided parking is creating a very dangerous situation for cars and pedestrians (near the restaurants). PLEASE PLOW THIS BLOCK BETTER.
1838-1846 Chapel Street New Haven, Connecticut - Westville
A permanent traffic signal is needed at the intersection of Yale Ave and Chapel St. to slow traffic. There is a blinking light there now but it is useless. Cars travel at a high rate of speed on Chapel between Grasso and Central Ave. Police monitoring is useless. Once the police are gone, the speeding starts immediately. Complicated intersection because Yale crosses Chapel at an odd angle. I have spoken about this to our last 4 alderpersons. No action.
Between 1-2PM Fri 8/8/14. Our duplex neighbors saw some packages for us on the front porch. Around 1pm two girls came to their door and tried to get money for something (neighbor checked website and it did not exist). Girls were around 20 years old. Another neighbor on West Elm reported suspicious activity around the same time. Our neighbors went to lunch around 1:30pm and sometime between then and 4:30pm the packages worth about $600 were gone.

Interest has been building for carbon-free transportation to Yale sporting events, particularly football games. Students and members of the New Haven community have organized group rides to games, but have noted a lack of bicycle parking in the vicinity. It would be great if the city could place 1-2 additional racks in the area surrounding the Yale Bowl to help support alternative transportation options.
I know this isn't a new issue, however packages that according to UPS have been delivered are missing. I checked the tracking on something I ordered and it said that it was left yesterday and I never received it. I thought this problem was primarily due to the holidays but apparently not...
