Notified About

  • Glass on tree belt Acknowledged
7 Stevenson Road New Haven, CT - Westville
Part of a broken car window on tree belt. Safety concern.
  • Illegal Dumping Acknowledged
477 Elm Street New Haven, Connecticut - Dwight
Several weeks ago a shopping cart (from nearby Stop & Shop) was left on a walkway running adjacent to and belonging to 477 Elm Street, a residential complex managed by Kensington Square (Community Builders LLC)--most likely the cart was left there by a resident of 477 Elm. A facilities crew goes by 477 Elm every week to take out the trash bins for pick-up, using the aforementioned walkway. No one returned the shopping cart to Stop & Shop, so it sat there for weeks. Then some time later a second shopping cart was left on the same walkway. Kensington Square was notified of this situation. No action was taken. A few days ago a plastic bag full of garbage was left in one of the shopping carts; then some time yesterday that same bag full of garbage was ripped open with the contents scattered inside the cart, including uneaten food, kitchen waste, a medication bottle and recyclable items. This inconvenience has now evolved into a health risk. Kensington Square must take action immediately. Had they acted sooner, the situation would not have digressed to the current state of affairs.
  • 155 Concord St East Haven, CT 06512, USA - East Shore
Sump water with oil and rust illegally being pumped into drain in area of protected estuary as identified by Engineering Department. Reported a month ago with no response. Hazardous waste, likely a punctured underground oil tank, being dumped into protected area.
  • Parks Request Acknowledged
English Dr New Haven, CT 06511, USA - East Rock
Handrail up the trail for east rock park (yellow) is falling and completely separated from the ground in some parts. Definitely dangerous.
  • 83-107 Rock St New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Cedar Hill
Trash dumping along side the mountain. And bins near the start and end of the park.
  • 195 English Street New Haven, Connecticut - Chatham Square
Corner of Rowe and English. This is starting to cause problems in the neighborhood.
  • 27 Maplewood Rd New Haven 06515, United States - Westville
Several trees on the treeline around 26 Maplewood (even side of the road) need trimming. Branches are obstructing pedestrian sidewalk. One tree at 30 Maplewood is partially dead.
  • Intersection Of Orange And Trumbull Streets New Haven, Connecticut - New Haven

There are potholes along a filled trench for cabling done in 2001. A few were filled by the repaving men a few weeks ago. Further from their work zone there are others. They are not a big deal for any vehicle with shock absorbers—but for trucks, with equipment not secured and parts not secured, the sounds are horrendous, sometimes sounding like gunshots on impact.

There is also a sink hole on Orange Street near the stop line going north. Nearly invisible, it has the equivalent result when a truck hits it. It is actually more easily seen at night when the on-coming cars lights leave it in darkness.

Please give these a look. If you are out when trucks are making deliveries: early evening or early morning, you will know what I mean.

  • 86 Button St New Haven, Connecticut - Hill
There is a vacant lot adjacent to 86 Button St, where carpet and miscellaneous trash was dumped about 2 months ago. After the tenants moved out from the 2nd floor of Button St. Whomever cleaned put the apartment they dumped the carpet and other trash onto the lot area. I have already contacted the Livable City of New Haven and nothing has been done about it. It is a shame that our tax dollars are going to waste because of lack of care from the City. Thank you.
  • Tree Trimming Archived
31 Beverly Rd New Haven, Connecticut - Amity

Tree in front of resident’s home is leaning towards the tree. In the past, the tree was infested with bugs and the tree crew went out to trim it. Since then, the tree started to lean towards the street and drops leaves and limbs into the driveway. The limbs are hitting the resident’s vehicle and the driveway is now full of fallen leaves and branches. The resident would like for the tree to be removed.

  • Admiral St New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Monterey Place
There will be an Emergency Order No Parking ban on Saturday, August 25th, from 12PM to 10PM on Both Sides of Admiral St between Dixwell St. and Ashmun St. due to Block Party.
  • 24 Wright Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Amity
There is a dying ash tree at 20 Wright Avenue whose branches are over the power lines to my home. I have told my Ward Alderman about this - Richard Furlow - who told me that he reached out to the Parks department since June to have this work done. No answer from the Parks department as of mid-November. The tree needs to be removed. I will continue to escalate this to the Mayor if necessary.
