  • I - 215 Cottonwood Heights, Utah - Glendale

I love I-215, no argument there. Has there ever been any thought given to renaming sections of the belt route?
Radio people reporting traffic issues take forever to accurately identify where on I-215 there is a traffic problem.
What if you broke identification of the belt route into 4 pieces
    1. I-215 west side retains the name i-215. The 15 because it runs parallel to i-15.
    2. i-215 on the east side gets a new name of i-415. The 15 because it runs parallel to i-15.
    3. I-215 on the south, east and west traffic becomes i-280 and 4. The short stretch on the north end becomes I-480.

That way when news reporters say we have an accident on 280 west bound at State street we will all know what section of road has the issue, the direction and with a cross street where we need to avoid.

912 West 400 South Salt Lake City, Utah - Poplar Grove
There is a UDOT sign down at this location. It has been on the ground, out of commission for over 6 months. The sign is advertising construction on Redwood Road between 400 South and 1000 South. Please pick it up.
  • Redwood Road Salt Lake City, Utah - Poplar Grove
Deer carcass on the I-80 West/Redwood Road Exit of I-215 heading east. The carcass is on the north side of the street.
  • 700 S 200 W Salt Lake City, Utah - People's Freeway
The N-S signal has a very long delay. Sometimes waiting several minutes for the light to change to green. There appears to be no sensor for NB traffic. SB traffic seems to trigger a light change. The green cycle is sometimes so short, the light changes to yellow by the time the first car is half way through the intersection. Recent experience: after waiting several minutes at the intersection (NB) - a NB train approached causing all lights to turn red. After the train left the intersection, the East-West signal changed to green. Then a SB train approached - all signals red. After the train left the intersection, the E-W signal changed to green again. Still waiting for the NB signals to change to green. After a couple more minutes, a SB vehicle approaches the intersection and the light finally changed to green.

1829 South State Street Salt Lake City, Utah - People's Freeway
Part of the State Street sidewalk has collapsed. It is a box marked PFI and PPI and neither the city or the lighting company will take care of it.
  • 1894 Foothill Drive Salt Lake City, Utah - Sugar House
There's a lot of NB traffic in the morning leading up the U and SB traffic in the afternoon away from there. This would be the ideal place for Flex lanes as 5400 South.

  • 215 West 700 North On Bridge Salt Lake City, Utah - Westpointe
Driving on 215 West & around 700 N. by the Bridge, when I hit the bump, my car goes out of control. I feel an accident is going to happen. Also, on S/B 215 West and W/B 201 about 100 yards from the off ramp the Asphalt has pushed up. Dangerous !

  • 860 S 600 E Salt Lake City, Utah - Central City
Exiting onto the collector at 65 mph we first see a sign: exit 50 mph and 85 ft further, we see a sign: 60 mph., both on the right side, The first sign probably refers to 405 A, the entrance to SR 301 where the speed is 50 mph but there is no sign until one is around the curve of the exit. This creates a rear-end accident on the main exit and a speed-related accident on 305 A. The first sign should be moved to the LEFT side at the start of 305 A.
