Downtown New Haven badly needs a fresh produce market. Market analysis backs up this claim. The developers of the Shartenberg tower have had trouble recruiting the likes of Trader Joe's and Whole Foods to occupy retail space in the tower. Citizens need to get involved in persuading out-of-town retailers to consider this space (i.e., Fairway in NYC). Interested grocers should contact the City of New Haven Economic Development Office.

If you are the owner of this vehicle your car was just broken into. I called the Nhpd and pursued the individual but the it took too long for non emergency to pick up and I was told not to follow by the time they got on the phone. The man was last seen headed up crown towards orange carrying a duffle bag. Sorry that I could not have helped to catch him,

I recognize that this is not a 'city' issue, but it is a 'community' one. It has to do with a decline of Elm City Market. I find it to be the least reliable store I've seen. Whomever is in charge of ordering and inventory needs to be placed in a more suitable role. And whomever is in charge of ensuring that employees are responsive to customers needs a similar new placement. I've had enough of not finding things in stock and having employees chat with one another as opposed to dealing with customers. The way it is going, the place will be closed in a year or so just because of mismanagement. And that will be a bad thing for the 9th Square and Wooster Square. Can we get an intervention?

At 6:50PM today I witnessed a silver Honda Insight with Traffic Enforcement door logos parked at an expired meter. The license plate# for this vehicle is 51 NH and it was parked at meter# 08316.

This represents a really poor attitude and a lack of respect for the community.
  • Chapel St 745-807 New Haven, Connecticut - 770 Chapel Big
too bad the street was just rebuilt. crossing distances are too kong for comfortable walkability of all ages.
  • 745-777 Chapel Street New Haven, CT 06510, USA - 770 Chapel Big
Most of the leaves on the new trees in front of 360 are turning brown. Can town green or building management water them?

People who wait for the bus St 746 chapel litter everywhere though the Pail 20 ft away.

Due to pour shoveling people are now waiting by the trash pail and there is no garbage. See photo. Let's move the bus stop away from the front of the office. There is no shelter here and people litter and loiter in the lobby.

Fox news Channel 8 building has 4 flood lights which disturb my sleep. Unnecessarily bright and obtrusive.
  • 745-777 Chapel St New Haven, CT 06510, USA - 770 Chapel Big
Buses are frequently delayed. Right hand lane from State towards Temple should be made bus/bike/parking vehicles only during peak hour (like many streets in Paris and NYC) in order to speed up service for riders and promote downtown walkability. The conversion would easy.
  • 135 Orange Street New Haven, Connecticut - 770 Chapel Big
This empty lot next to Elm City Market (a casualty of the tax dispute between MEPT and the City) is becoming a public dumping ground.
  • 360 State Street New Haven, CT 06511, USA - 770 Chapel Big
CT transit buses constantly run red lights at chapel and State Street. If they are not running red lights many times they block the intersection so that pedestrians cannot cross safely. Connecticut transit needs to talk with bus drivers about safety. I just witnessed 1212 block the intersection going east at 10:35 pm.
