A watch area for Lexington and surrounding areas to/from North Waltham, Belmont

Notified About

  • 2 Common St Belmont - Belmont
At the intersection of Concord Rd and Common St, there is no clear "right-of-way" and I see accidents almost happen all of the time. Not one of these roads has STOP or YIELD signs, so this intersection seems to bring out the worst in people (especially at rush hour).
  • All Of Dwight Street Watertown, Massachusetts - Watertown
Dwight Street, off of Sycamore, is a small narrow street that has approx. 10 houses on it. At the end of Dwight Street the road is in complete disrepair with chunks of the road actually missing. Also, at the end of Dwight Street it turns to Thayer. Thayer has some commercial property and as a result of that we have HUGE trucks coming and going from Dwight Street on a daily and regular basis. Many of these trucks have difficulty making the turn from Dwight to Thayer and as a result of caused property damage to fences and have even damaged cars. This is not an unusual occurrence either. What also happens is when a large 18 Wheeler comes down Dwight to make a delivery at Thayer they usually can't make the turn and end up blocking the entire street. This type of situation is extremely dangerous especially if anyone needed to get through for a fire, medical emergency, police emergency, etc. The speed of these vehicles is another concern.
Is there a way to restrict certain vehicles from coming down such a narrow and small street and to possible divert this traffic to Thayer in Belmont where the road is almost twice as wide and the access to the commercial buildings is much more direct?
  • Gilbert Road Belmont, MA - Belmont
Gilbert is used as a high-speed bypass from Trapelo to Common (avoiding the light at Cushing Square) at all hours of the day and night. Police presence on Gilbert seems to be limited to visiting friends on game night rather than enforcing traffic laws.
  • 400 Trapelo Road Belmont, MA - Belmont
Trapelo Road is one of the worst in the Greater Boston area. It's like driving in a 3rd world country. All the town did this Summer was put cold patch on some of the really bad spots and that's since come up. How a town with taxes this high can go a full Summer without paving it's main road is beyond me. Guess they're trying to keep the local mechanics in business because driving around Belmont is sure to ruin your car eventually. What a joke.
  • Intersection Of Mill St And Concord Ave. - Belmont
When traffic is heavy, cars back up at the regular stop sign to take a left onto Concord Ave. Many drivers are always trying to jump this traffic queue on Mill St by taking this left that's in front of the gas station onto Concord Ave. It's infuriating to see this obnoxious behavior.
  • Sycamore Street Watertown, MA - Watertown
For the entire portion of Sycamore Street there is only one crosswalk in Watertown on it and that is at the very end where it meets Belmont Street. This is an area with a lot of foot traffic due to the Commuter Rail and buses in Waverly Square. We also have an issue with cars speeding down this street. I think we are long overdue for a crosswalk on Sycamore Street. The ideal spot would be at the half way point between the end of Sycamore Street at Lexington Street in Belmont and where Sycamore ends at Belmont Street in Watertown.
  • Much deeper after the latest freeze.
  • 8 Francis St Belmont, MA 02478, USA - Belmont
My entire life this street has been riddled with potholes. The town comes by and gives it a quick 2 day patch.
  • (pothole) Archived
    Waltham, MA - Waltham
The entrance to the village has a pothole that cannot be avoided. They have attempted to fix it but it needs to be fixed for good. that is the only entrance to this place.
  • 1041 Concord Ave Belmont, MA 02478, USA - Belmont
All of Belmont is just one big
  • The stretch between Hammond and Common on Palfrey is nothing but potholes.
  • Spring Street And Hayden Ave - Lexington
The traffic detail Shire has hired on Spring Street only stops traffic (in all directions) to allow cars into or out of Shire. This was already a dangerous intersection which has gotten worse with this detail. At first the detail directed traffic for all movements, but now they only stop cars to allow access into or out of Shire. Cars on Hayden have much worse access to Spring Street, but more importantly, on several occasions cars from Hayden ave have lurched into Spring street expecting the officer to secure a turning movement for them after they stopped traffic for Shire, but the officer just goes back to their post.
