468-470 Massachusetts 60 Medford, MA 02155, USA - MedfordHi, this is a nice feature. Just wondering if Medford could install leading left green arrows at the intersection of Rte 60 and the Fellsway. This intersection is very dangerous, and I think green arrows for the traffic flowing on Rte 60 would be very helpful in reducing accidents and rush hour(s) traffic. Thanks so much.
Forest St Medford, Massachusetts - MedfordA crosswalk was supposed to be painted across Forest St (near Webster or Water) before McNally Park opened last year. It has still not been painted.
Salem Street Medford, Massachusetts - MedfordSalem Street, from the chicken and rice guys location down to the traffic lights, there are no traffic lane markings whatsoever. On a dark rainy night, it's especially difficult to distinguish what lane you are in, if any.
1 Chipman St Medford, MA 02155 - MedfordPlease enforce the "no dogs allowed, $50 fine" rules on Morrison park. It is not safe for small children. Unleashed dogs have the whole park to themselves.

The presence of dogs and their owners is one of the few things keeping this park safer than it otherwise would be (especially at night).
Here are some positive things that I've witnessed:
-Dog owners are the closest thing we have to a neighborhood watch, especially now that it's getting darker earlier and the lighting in the park is VERY inadequate at night.
-Dog owners keep the drug dealers from completely taking over the area.
-Dog owners are the only ones who get together to clean the park of the dangerous broken glass, grocery carts, and other litter that is left behind.
-I have never witnessed the small dogs that make the majority ever threaten small children and have only ever seen kids playing with the small dogs.
Instead of focusing on removing a positive influence to Morrison Park, how about focusing on what is really wrong with area?
-Last year there was a stabbing in Morrison Park.
-Recently I saw a group of girls viciously beat another in plain daylight.
-I have witnessed drug deals in the fenced-in play area. I've seen and smelled kids smoking marijuana there as well.
-I've also seen the same activities occur behind the dugout of the baseball diamond.
I believe that these persons are more of threat to children than small dogs.
Oddly enough, it seems that these activities disburse when dogs and dog owners are nearby.
I think the proper balance would be to add a gated-in area strictly for dogs to safely run off-leash. This way, people who are threatened by dogs would feel less threatened, and we would maintain the positive influence of dog owners in the area.
Main St & Route 16 Intersection Medford, MA - MedfordTrying to come off South St or Route 16 onto Main St is like trying to perform a suicide mission each time! You have to peel out and burn rubber at full speed then slam on your brakes in the center like a sitting duck and then peel out again to get across the other half of street all while oncoming traffic is speeding towards you and purposely go faster if they see you even attempting to get across the street!! Try doing this while driving over all the potholes and getting stuck and ricocheted like a pinball all over the place. I'm SHOCKED this intersection has not been improved!!
2-16 Dexter Street Medford, Massachusetts - MedfordThe green light on Dexter Street is 5 seconds long, which is not long enough for bicyclists to get through this large intersection. The short green light combined with extremely long red light plus having to compete with oncoming traffic from the CVS parking lot means Dexter Street gets backed up past Bow Street during rush hour, as only a couple of cars can get through the intersection per light cycle. It also sets up a game of chicken between Dexter St and the CVS parking lot traffic, with people not yielding to oncoming traffic when making left turns... very dangerous. Needs either "left turns yield to oncoming traffic" signs or change so Dexter and CVS parking don't compete for the same green light, plus a longer green light.
City Wide Medford, MA - MedfordIn every park in Medford, the blue barrels are taken away during fall and winter months (late October to April). That is almost half the year. This discourages dog owners from picking up after their dogs, as there is no opportunity to discard the waste. A vast majority of the piles of uncollected dog waste can be found along the paved paths that surround the fields. They are left by dog owners who walk the parks with their dogs ON LEASH. Having barrels and collection year round would solve so many of the issues that non dog owners who use the parks have with dog owners.
637 High Street Medford, Massachusetts - MedfordRepeated crashes of westbound traffic onto rotary island have (1) broken the pole & light that used to be there (c. 2014) (2) demolished any rotary markings and much of the curb (c. 2015) (3) left visible tire tracks more than halfway up the island mound (March 2016)

Suggested City Infrastructure Improvement Project:
Create Dog Run at Morrison Park
The City may or may not have sufficient funding for infrastructure projects at this time to do the following work:
1) Break up & remove the concrete in the tennis area
2) Re-lay fence so dogs won't escape through gaps on current fence that has sharp rusty corners.
3) Lay soft wood chips for the dogs to play on.
4) Install better lighting in the fenced in area.
It shouldn't cost more than $10,000 in labor and materials. If the City does not have the budget this FY to procure materials and pay labor costs, I'm sure (given the volume dog owners in the area) that funds could be raised.
If the Mayors Officer and City of Public Works is interested, I am a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and can provide a detailed Work Breakdown Structure, Cost Estimate, Schedule & Risk Assessment for further consideration. I am willing to assist the City of Medford in managing this effort on a volunteer/pro-bono basis
A short but critical road to getting into and out of the neighborhood behind Tufts field. The whole street is filled with huge, deep potholes. They patch it periodically but the Town needs to pave the whole road!
Hicks Ave. & East Albion St. Medford Massachusetts - MedfordThere is a double utility pole at a high foot & car traffic area at Columbus Elementary School. One of the poles is several feet off the ground.
