There is a homeless encampment on the railroad right of way at the foot of the Fruitvale Bridge. There is a large pile of trash accumulating next to the encampment, along with smaller scattered amounts. The fencing on the gate leading to the bridge is torn away, which allows for easy ingress and egress. The encampment belongings and associated trash should be removed as a public health nuisance. The trees in the area should be trimmed in order to discourage homeless camping and other potential illegal activity.

The corner store at Lincoln and 5th seems to be the meeting spot for some interested folks. I can't say for sure that there are "drug deals," but what i can say is that there are number of times where there is a quick exchange of cash with a quick exchange of something..Also, there are quite a few just "visiting" car sittings.. Meaning that a car waits for quite sometime and then someone jumps in real quick and then out again..

During rush hour, cars moving south on 8th across the Santa Clara constantly run the light and block the intersection when the light turns red. I see this several times a week. It creates a dangerous situation for pedestrians, as well as E/W traffic on Santa Clara.

Does Wescafe have a permit to block the *public* parklet bench seating area with all their tables and chairs? This is a public area for sitting not an extension of their restaurant. I reported this before, and public works closed it claiming "The property owner has been notified." I have attached a photo that they are still placing their tables on public spots, so the owner may know, but apparently doesn't care.

Pedestrians crossing Broadway at San Jose are are particularly endangered. School children are crossing in the early morning and late afternoons and anyone crossing at night face the hazard of darkness. While I don't believe traffic signals nor a 4-way stop is warranted, I do believe some kind of overhead yellow flashing signals (NOT in-ground) are that would be triggered by a pedestrian wishing to cross. Also adding zebra lines leading to the crosswalk would be an additional aid. Please see the suggested signals.

I think there needs to be traffic calming on Lincoln Ave at the intersection with Walnut St.. There have been a number of auto accidents on this corner and speeding or confused drivers often ignore pedestrians crossing Lincoln. Drivers coming from Oak St.see the street opening to two lanes; so they speed up and drivers entering the intersection from the opposite direction seem to be distracted by the reduction to one lane after they cross Walnut. It is used quite a bit by Alameda High students and people walking to the bus sops on Santa Walnut and Santa Clara.

The public seating area at 1435 Webster Street is littered with dozens of cigarette butts.

Add stop sign at intersection of Clement and Everett. People speed all the time down these streets. Its a blind intersection because of the tow trucks, and pedestrians do not feel safe crossing.

I did call public work a few weeks ago to report missing street sweeping sign. But it seems nobody to take care about it. Falling leaves block drainage and overdue permit car has been parking in front of our houses without moving for a decade.
