  • Humboldt Rd & Rollins Rd Burlingame, CA, 94010, USA - San Mateo

The intersection of Amphlett and Humboldt is only a 1 way stop for anyone turning left or right into amphelett. This is dangerous because most of the time there are large vehicles that cause an even bigger blind spot.

Many times the only way is to slowly creep up and into the southbound lane of amphlett to get a view of any cars coming from either or both directions.

  • San Mateo 94403 United States - East San Mateo
  • Peninsula Ave San Mateo, CA, 94401, USA - North Central
Westbound Peninsula Avenue, at the base of the overpass, crossing N. Humboldt. The street/traffic markings force the two westbound lanes to merge just prior to re-splitting the resulting single lane into a left turn only and through lane. Is there any way to improve the street markings/signs to eliminate this forced merge? Many motorists get confused as most left-turning drivers wind up going over the yellow-striped island so as not to miss their left turn. Maybe a dotted-white entrance into the left-turn only lane might be a better marking? Also, why can't two separate lanes just be maintained instead of forcing a merge?
