"TRIZ BLOCK" spray painted in road. Unacceptable. Decent people raised children in this neighborhood for decades, now that they have left (out of fear) and trash has moved in, they think they will take over this neighborhood? NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. No one cares about your stupid gang territory markings, and none of it will be heeded by residents of this neighborhood. DeStefano claims that none of New Haven's students are losers; I beg to differ - these "gangs" are getting younger and younger. If gangs aren't made of losers, who/what is? City of New Haven, please remove ASAP. Residents of Beaver Hill - this will not be tolerated, be vocal and strong about this.

There is a tree on the street (in front of our house) that has a very large dead limb, which overhangs lines. A tree service informed us that this must be brought to the attention of the city. A dead limb fell in March from this tree - this other limb should be removed before anyone walking on the sidewalk is hurt, or power/phone lines are damaged. Thank you!
  • Nw Corner Of Goffe Terrace And Norton Pkwy New Haven, CT - Beaver Hills
The text "RIP K*nt" has been sprayed in red on the Goffe Terrace sidewalk at this corner. Yet another in the series of such graffiti in the neighborhood.

My neighbors on both the south (373 Ellsworth) and the east (Norton St) deposit trash on their properties, including couches, refrigerators, and open containers, that collect water and serve as breeding ground for mosquitos. Last summer we had an incredible infestation of mosquitos, so severe that it was impossible to be outside most of the summer, and I'm afraid it will be the same this summer. I have talked with the owners but they are unconcerned. Is there anything that can be done?
  • 138-298 Colony Rd New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Beaver Hills
This corner fence at this property located on corner of Colony Rd and Dyer St. is hazardous to drivers when approaching this intersection from Colony Rd or from Dyer St. It creates a blind spot for drivers, bikers and pedestrians. The height of the fence blocks the sight line. And, the fact that it extends out to the sidewalk blocks a clear view of oncoming traffic and pedestrians rounding the corner. It is also a security issue for pedestrians. Please have the appropriate city department check out this fence before an accident occurs. Also, determine if this fence violates city codes for fences.
  • Norton Pkwy New Haven, CT - Beaver Hills
A mattress has been dumped on the Norton Parkway island toward Glen Rd. Never in all of my years have I seen this before in Beaver Hill. Disgraceful, the dumper should be ashamed. This is not in front of anyone's house for pickup by the city - it is ON THE ISLAND. Shameful.
  • Whalley Avenue New Haven, CT - Edgewood
The old Chuck's Luncheonette is looking abandoned and is deteriorating. Whoever started to do work on it years ago has stopped. Let's get Whalley Avenue looking better--it's better for the people and the businesses. The city should contact the owner of this building.
  • Jewel Street New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
Debris dumped on street. Jewel Street and Whalley Ave.

Anarchist symbol on neighborhood watch sign on corner of Edgewood and Ellsworth. Needs to be taken down immediately, disconcerting and scary. Alders?
