  • 75-85 Roydon New Haven, CT - Beaver Hills
Homeowner's private property (75 or 85? unsure, as it is placed in the road between the properties) basketball stand in the road. This is an obvious hazard for many. Not only for the people stupid enough to shoot hoops in the road, but for the drivers who pass by and risk hitting these ignorami. In this litigious world, a DRIVER would be held liable for hitting someone playing basketball in the middle of the road. The homeowner would skate. Consider this carefully (it could be you driving by) and VOTE TO FIX.

  • 22-70 Glen Road New Haven, CT - Beaver Hills
Cars are parking IN the street, impeding traffic and causing a major safety hazard. Glen Rd. down to one lane because City did not plow properly. There is an event being held at Hillhouse High, and there are numerous cars attempting to park on the street, which is difficult because city failed to remove snow. Intersection of Glen Rd, Winthrop and Crescent extremely dangerous for pedestrians and vehicles, especially school buses.

  • Ellsworth New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills

Woman on Ellsworth Avenue was fined for keeping her trash toters out for 3 days after trash pickup, but her husband brings toters in every Monday night. This is from the neighborhood website Next Door:

"I was wondering if anyone else on Ellsworth Ave received a citation for supposedly leaving their garbage bins out. We received a citation claiming we had left our out for 3 days, which I can say for sure is not the case. My husband brings them back every monday after work. When we contacted the office they claimed that 21 other home owners on our street received the same citation. I find it hard to believe that 21 home owners would happen to leave their bins out for the same 3 days at the same time. Just curious, and yes we are contesting this. "

The flyer is ridiculous - we're not supposed to put our toters out before trash pickup? Huh? Then how would the trash be collected, if it's not at the curb the night before? Do you expect us to wake at 4am and stand beside the toters waiting for the garbage trucks??

  • 255 Colony Rd New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Beaver Hills
This car is always blocking the sidewalk in the morning and it's pretty annoying
  • Corner Of Blake And Osborn Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
The abandoned gas station on the corner of Blake and Osborn Avenue is a mess. There is broken glass, piles of leaves, and the property looks terrible. The station needs to be cleaned up and maybe even thrown down. It is becoming an eye sore to the neighborhood.

  • 1-65 Jewell Street New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
White 18 wheeler (Logo: SWIFT; Indiana license plate 2464454) was parked all weekend at the cemetery on Jewel St. This has been an issue in the past and seemed to be over but apparently not. I called the police nonemergency number on Saturday to report this but the truck was still in place without a ticket on Sunday afternoon when I went by. We need enforcement here.
  • 138-298 Colony Rd New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Beaver Hills
This corner fence at this property located on corner of Colony Rd and Dyer St. is hazardous to drivers when approaching this intersection from Colony Rd or from Dyer St. It creates a blind spot for drivers, bikers and pedestrians. The height of the fence blocks the sight line. And, the fact that it extends out to the sidewalk blocks a clear view of oncoming traffic and pedestrians rounding the corner. It is also a security issue for pedestrians. Please have the appropriate city department check out this fence before an accident occurs. Also, determine if this fence violates city codes for fences.
  • 171-265 Roydon Road New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Beaver Hills
This road has not seen a plow truck since just after the storm a week ago when the plow went through exactly one time. There has been nothing since for a week now.
  • 1-179 Bellevue Road New Haven, CT - Beaver Hills
Neither Bellevue Rd nor most of the streets in the area have been plowed beyond the narrow strip in the center of the street. The Emergency Operations message at 5:00 today said all streets in New Haven have been plowed and the operation is complete. Someone's information is extremely inaccurate. Driving is still dangerous as the roads, despite significant melting, are often too narrow for 2 cars to pass.
