Notified About

  • 22-32 Blake Street New Haven, CT - Beaver Hills
Pedestrians crossing Blake Street on Whalley Avenue are taking their lives into their hands. Because of the angle Blake takes from Whalley the walking distance is great and cars traveling northwest on Whalley turn into Blake at high speed. Drivers rarely cede right of way to pedestrians. People I know won't cross Blake there at all preferring to detour. This intersection is ripe for traffic calming.
  • Corner Of Goffe And Wintrhop Ave. - Beaver Hills
The Pedestrian walkway is completely erased. Cars zoom by near this school bust stop corner and public bus stop. We need pedestrian safety measures on the corner of Goffe and Winthrop Ave. Children and families need this!!!
  • 577 Winthrop Ave New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
Doesn't seem like they have bulk trash scheduled. Trash has been laying in front of house for over week. Now its spilling off the sidewalk and onto street.
  • 500 Whalley New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Beaver Hills

I don't know the exact address but wanted to know what is legal and what is not legal.

There is a small church in this section of Whalley that has out door sermons and concerts with speakers and all. Sometimes they put their speakers on the sidewalk while they have their sermons inside. I am Christian and even *I* find this incredibly disrespectful. If I lived in that block I would be livid. But even as a passer-by this is bothersome.

Its one thing to invite people inside and listen but to force others to listen to sermons and concerts is a bit much!

Is this even legal? What can be done about this?

  • Whalley Ave New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
Pedestrian traffic signals are a real pain in New Haven, especially on Whalley Ave, because a walker has to wait through at least two light changes to get the "walk" signal, and the "don't walk" signal prevents the pedestrian from going with the green light. Drivers know this, and they will run over any pedestrian crossing with the green light. I used to walk to work from Ellsworth to York and back, but it took forever because of having to wait several minutes at each light. These "walk/don't walk signals are helpful for disabled pedestrians but are an obstruction to the ordinary walker. "Pedestrians should always have the right to cross on green.
  • 35 Pelham Lane New Haven, CT - Beaver Hills
Although the city keeps informing people that the emergency snow removal is completed, the Beaver Hills neighborhood has not seen a plow since a week ago Monday! Osborn Ave., Goffe St., and many others still have only one lane plowed and it is dangerous to drive on these roads. Some cars were parked in the cleared lane on Osborn Ave. yesterday, making it almost impossible to get by. Please do not tell us the work has been completed. Public Works: drive through this neighborhood and see for yourselves.
  • Ella Grasso Boulevard And Goffee New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
In the middle of the intersection there are several holes and bumps- especially traveling downhill on Goffee it throws the car to the curb side.
  • Jewel Street And Whalley New Haven, CT - Beaver Hills
This same white, 18 wheeler is parked in front of the cemetery on Jewel St. as it has been for the past 2 weeks. No ticket is seen on its windshield. I am told often that the issue is being taken care of by Traffic and Parking. I see no movement on this issue. If this truck is illegally parked on Jewel St., it ought to be removed.
  • Norton And Whalley New Haven, Connecticut - Edgewood
Putting lives at risk, without a care.
  • 1579 Ella T Grasso Boulevard New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Beaver Hills
Pile of dirt in roadway blocking catch basin
  • 425 Bellevue Rd - Beaver Hills
This sidewalk has been damaged 4/5 years I have made complaints to the city several times I am a disabled veteran and have fallen several times entering my home just wondering if Parks and Rec or someone from the city is going to make repairs on the sidewalk.
  • 2-54 Jewell St New Haven, CT, 06515, USA - Beaver Hills

Two tractor trailers were parked between Blake and Whalley on Saturday. One of them is a refrigerated truck and it appeared to be idling. When I walked by 4 hours later it was still there and idling. Last night (Tuesday) I was out walking and amazingly the trust was still there and idling.

Apart and aside from the fact that it is illegal for tractor trailers to be parked there, this is also a health menace in a city with high rates of asthma. Truck is Midwest Refrigerated Tansport, USDOT 1772901 Milwaukee, WI There is another number on the hood 282799

The other truck (which was moved) is owned by D. F. Carriers, Lowell MA 978-995-8926 US. DOT # 2167461 VIN HSJA8904
