Notified About

  • 23 Edwards Street New Haven, Connecticut - East Rock

The city's robocall didn't go out until 7pm last night. Signs were barely posted and people were trying to move their cars around Edwards/Nicoll/Nash with no idea which side was the correct side to be on. Why is it never announced that the odd side will be first or vice versa?

This morning, new signs were posted where none had been before and people were getting towed and caught off guard as they left for work. Maybe worst of all, tow trucks were speeding down Nash Street THE WRONG WAY in an effort to tow everyone the fastest, nearly causing multiple accidents and jamming traffic.

I'm happy to comply with street sweeping but the city needs to make it easier for citizens to comply. Announce earlier, more clearly, and stop rigging the entire system for the benefit of the tow truck companies.

  • 200 Orange Street New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Dixwell
I have seen the # of cars by parking all day in front of City Hall ( 200 Orange Street) by Goverment agencies increase to an unreasonable level this summer. ICE has 3-5 cars all day, every day, Treasurer has 3 cars all day and assorted other agencies vary from week to week. These are not hourly parkers. This is ALL DAY EVERY DAY. Don't these agencies have the underground parking below 157 Church St.?? It is appauling that taxpayers can't park near City Hall because of Goverment Agency Parking taking 10-15 of the 30 minute parking spots all day.
  • Cliff Street New Haven, Connecticut - Prospect Hill
The New Haven Recycling truck is still leaking broken glass along its route. This morning large deposits of glass are all over Everitt Street, St. Ronan, Cliff, and the rest of the Prospect/St. Ronan neighborhood. I had issued a ticket regarding this issue already and Public Works responded that the truck had been fixed. Obviously, this is not the case.
  • 36 Mechanic St New Haven CT 06511, USA - East Rock
Due to the results of last night's election I am requesting a day of national mourning. Please fly flags at half staff
  • 35 Clark St New Haven, CT - SOHU

This car is buried in snow and is clearly not worried about the parking ban. It is a Red Honda and has New Hampshire plates, 189 9321. the 1's could be I's. I am attaching photos.

Will toe companys really dig this out?

  • Lawrence Street New Haven, CT - East Rock
Many cars remained parked on the odd side of the street last night and no one appears to have been ticketed or towed. Having the street adequately plowed would open up parking for days to come and this is very difficult when the street is all parked up. Just wondering if there are plans to enforce the ban in the future.
  • 34 Middletown Ave New Haven, CT 06513, USA - Quinnipiac
By my recollection, New Haven hasn't held an electronics recycling day for two years ( I've called the Department of Public Works about this and they always say they don't know when it will be held next. To keep consumer electronics (and the lead and other heavy metals they contain) out of landfills, the city should give people a way to properly dispose of electronics.
  • 650 Orange Street And 180 Edwards Street New Haven, Connecticut - Bishop-Hine
The tree located between 2 driveways (behind 650 Orange St, next to 180 Edwards St) is HOLLOW. The snowplow hired by 173 Edwards st, with tremendous force, plows their driveway out, across Edwards Street and smashed the snow against this HOLLOW tree with such a tremendous force that it concerns these landlords - the tree is in grave danger from this repeated hi-speed plowing, that it may be forced over ant topple, damaging homes and garage!
  • 317 Willow St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - East Rock
PROWLER trying to break into the back door to our house at 4:45pm today. 300 Block of Willow Street. Caught on security camera footage. He calmly walked down our drive way and up to the back door, tried getting in (it was locked) and he calmly walked away. We also saw him in the back yard of neighboring houses. We called the non-emergency police phone number and were told that there is nothing they can do and encouraged us to alert our neighbors. Disappointing response.
  • 150 Bishop St. New Haven, CT - Bishop-Hine

The intersection at Bishop and Orange needs a traffic light before someone gets killed there. I'm a careful driver and I've had close calls with pedestrians and I've seen other automobile drivers have close calls with pedestrians here as well.

People drive up Bishop at excessive rates of speed (which is an issue unto itself) and they expect to zip through the intersection and someone is going to end up being mowed down here. It's just a matter of time.

A traffic light with ped xing would greatly postpone that tragedy.

17 Compton Street New Haven, CT - Dixwell
A dog is being chained in the backyard of a illegal boarding house at 17 Compton Street and barks incessantly and is in distress. The owner abuses the dog, causing the dog to cry. The dog is sometimes brought into the house, but more often is chained in the backyard with no water and no food. Not only is this extremely hurtful to the dog, but it causes distress within the neighborhood. That dog must be taken away from the abusive owner.
  • 45 Bristol Street New Haven, Connecticut - Dixwell
4 way stop sign needed at the corner of Bristol St & Ashmun St. This corner experiences heavy traffic which is extremely dangerous due to the amount of children in the area visiting the park, the community book bank, and the Dixwell Yale Community Learning Center.
