  • 547-549 Hancock Street Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy

Now that Wollaston Station is closed, there will be many commuters walking to the MBTA shuttle stop at Hancock/Woodbine, today I had to walk in the street on Hancock because large swathes of sidewalk were not cleared.

My difficulties began at the corner of Linden and Hancock and all the way through the USPS truck garage. Prime Oil did nothing to clear their sidewalks but rather plowed snow onto their sidewalks.

How is Quincy able to consider itself a walkable city when you can’t even walk on its sidewalks?

this issue was reported on 12/13/17 and no one from TPL has bothered to come out and fix it. What is Mike Coffey doing to earn his salary? Not much judging by this as well as his silence on the impending traffic disaster known as the Wollaston Station closure
  • Highland Ave / Brook St Intersection Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy
There was major construction on the highland ave side of Wollaston School all summer. The whole intersection is unmarked. Curb potholes are dangerous.
  • 2-10 Buckley St Quincy, MA 02169, USA - Quincy
The stop sign at the intersection of Buckley St & Suomi Road is often ignored (more often than not). With Buckley St. being such a steep hill, if people do not stop when they are coming up the hill, it creates a very dangerous situation for both drivers and pedestrians. I live just past the intersection and I've nearly been hit by people just making the corner on to Suomi Road from Buckley. I have seen police there in the past, but think it needs to be more of a regular watch area.

  • Dangerous Short-Cut Acknowledged
23 Richard Street Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy
At the end of Richard Street, a space between the termination of a chain-link fence and city guard rail, allows passage of pedestrians cutting through from Martensen St to shop in the plaza where the Kam Man is located. I understand it is a short-cut for a number of people, but the path is a dangerous hill prone to washout and erosion and a mis-step could cause injury or worse in the case of a slip, trip or fall. Shopping carts from Kam Man Foods have also been left here on numerous occasions. In addition, pedestrian traffic through Richard St encourages crossing Quincy Ave at a point over the crest of the hill, where a pedestrian was killed, instead of at crosswalks. There doesn't seem to be a category for this particular issue, but something should be done to prevent both the potential for injury and the shopping cart issue. Closing the gap would likely solve both. Either that, or the path needs to be made safer, and a pedestrian crossing light should be installed at the corner of Richard St and Quincy Ave.

    Wollaston Station - Quincy
Wollaston T station outside stairs and parking lot are a mess. Huge puddles and then sheets of ice on sidewalks. Almost fell twice.
