    Cars parked in bike lane. Orange traffic cones in lane, presumably the property of adjacent condominium building.

    Double whammy from 13th through 11th...an auto repair shop, forget the name, and a discount furniture store both with double parked cars, signage and and employees blocking the bicycle lane. Traffic in the right lane moves quickly, so it can be harrowing getting around the obstacles.

  • 1200 Ellsworth Block Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
    Open air drug market continues to flourish from Peters street along 12th all the way down to corner of Ellsworth. Full fledged hand offs and payments right on corner by bus stop. Called police, but until they actually stakeout Peters or hide and then take down the dealers, it will continue. Lots of kids on the block and respectable households. End it!

    Because this is a very busy stretch with two bus stops close together as well as two convenience stores, there is a small river of litter that flows down the west-side sidewalk and in the gutters. Many of the residences are apartment buildings, there are a couple of restaurants, and many elderly. No one picks up the litter. It's disgusting.

    10th Street from Snyder to Jackson on the east side is full of trash, food waste, dog feces, and abandoned buildings. The building on the southeast corner is a particular problem and has even been dubbed "The Pigeon House." It has finally been boarded up but has been derelict for years.
  • 8th And Manton Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square

    On the southeast corner of 8th and Manton, a condemned house was recently demolished. Woohoo!

    But now, the dirt lot is being used for parking. Boo! This is not only creating a mess -- mud and dirt all over the street and sidewalk -- but also creating a hazard to pedestrians and an eyesore to neighbors.

    I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure there is a permitting process that has to happen to turn a zoned residential property into a parking lot.

    Further, I think there are some regulations about keeping empty lots fenced off.

    So, this is a ZBA issue, an L&I issue, and a PPA issue.

    I know I know, parking in South Philly, enforcement, blah blah blah. At least it's on record now.

    From 9th to Broad Street is a trash pit. I guess the business owners dont care. I will take my dollars elsewhere until it is cleaned up.

  • 1100 South 11th Street Philadelphia, PA - Passyunk Square
    The restaurants that use the dumpsters on 11th Street between Washington and Ellsworth - across from the 7-11 - leave the doors to the dumpsters open, and allow trash water and/or cleaning supplies to just drain into the street drain. It's gross, smelly and also dangerously slippery on the sidewalk.
