Notified About

  • Bishop And Orange Streets New Haven, CT - Bishop-Hine
High and wide mounds of snow at intersection with bus stops and significant pedestrian and vehicular traffic block sight lines. This is a very dangerous intersection for pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers. Snow piles must be removed for basic public safety.
  • Humphrey St And State St New Haven, CT 06511, USA - SOHU
Humphrey to downtown needs to be connected by bicycle sharrows. Why were they not placed here?
  • 155 Edwards Street New Haven, Connecticut - Bishop-Hine
Almost hit by yet another driver blowing a red light while talking on their held-in-hand cell phone with no NHPD in sight. If I didn't defensively anticipate and react to the illegal behavior, I would have gotten smeared on my bike.
There have been a slew of recent crashes involving cyclists and pedestrians lately: many not publicized. While the occasional, publicized traffic enforcement blitzes are great for show, we need regular aggressive distracted driving enforcement over the long haul.

There is an old (1950s?) black car here that has been sitting here for years. It has been accumulating more and more trash, junk, and other pieces of ancient no longer working equipment inside it over the years as well. I guess it is not technically abandoned since more junk keeps getting added to this junker, but it doesn't move, never get shoveled out when it snows, and is taking up space. It is obviously not street legal, inspected, or able to pass any emissions tests. I've seen animals coming in and out from the rusting holes in the sides of the car. Not sure if someone is living in it or not (there isn't much room for someone to even sit in it). but its been there, unmoved for YEARS, and I just don't understand why.

This complaint is directed specifically at the grotesque and disturbing images of protesters in front of Planned Parenthood, not at the issue of abortion in itself. This morning, my twelve year old daughter was exposed to a graphic image of an aborted fetus -- clearly a human form -- torn into pieces. My child is not even of the age to watch a PG-13 movie. How is this possibly an acceptable image in a public space? Her face fell, she almost started crying. She will never unsee the image. This was on our way to school. She will think of this image at school. Whatever your beliefs, you must see that this is entirely inappropriate for a child. Keep the pictures of Mary, of moms and babies, but remove the graphic images. This image harmed my child. They are hurting our children with their aggressive tactics.

Either city plows or private contractors have filled the handicapped parking spot between Bishop and Edwards with snow, making it inaccessible to disabled drivers. This also happened after the last storm and took repeated calls over days for the city to clear. This was not a problem during the last administration - even in severe weather.
  • 974 State Street New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Bishop-Hine
JP Dempsey and Goosdellows outdoor tables take up too much of the sidewalk. Pedestrians are forced to use the "brick" section of the sidewalk which is cluttered with utility poles, newspaper machines and fire hydrants. It is nearly impossible for anyone in a wheelchair or stroller to get by.

Burglar broke in through back window and stole 2 laptops. Police were called. Reporting this issue so neighbors are aware of thieves in the area.

36 Bishop St New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Bishop-Hine
There is an owner who doesnt walk their dog on a leash according to CT's leash law. Also, no one is picking up after their dogs in this area!! We need a "pick up after your dog" sign because asking the owners to pick up after their dogs isnt working!!

My co-worker has a child at Barnard--the school system told her he could be picked up here. However, since school starts, I can count on one hand the number of times he has been picked up.

I think he has been picked up/dropped off ONCE within 10 minutes of the scheduled time. The time variance is 30-45 minutes.

One time the school bus driver just kept going, with him sitting in the bus, and his mother desperately waving her down. Almost one hour later, the school figured out where her child was and had her drive over to pick him up.

Is this really not something that NHPS can handle?

At the power gas station on state street there is a bus stop with no light. I drive past every morning; there is a woman standing there alone. This isn't safe and needs a light so we can all stay safe and out is the dark with our belongings et cetera. Please vote
