Notified About

  • 383 Whalley Avenue New haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
The new laundromat has strung banners across the public sidewalk to light and telephone posts and has placed banners in the tree line - all illegal and looks horrible.

From 10/11/15 at 8pm to at least 9pm, man was teaching child to ride dirtbike. Went from driveway to riding around the block and back, for at least an hour. Thereafter, male was coming and going on the dirtbike at all hours overnight. (For what purpose? Is he an on-call drug trafficker? Who else needs to come and go at all hours of the night? He's certainly no doctor!)

We have 3 issues here: 1. Child endangerment, 2. illegal dirtbike use, 3. noise violation/disturbing the peace.

NHPD has already been contacted. If any of these behaviors continue, more formal complaints will be made, and DCF will be involved.

The "glass" bus shelter at this location is cluttered with fliers between the two pieces of glass of the wall of the bus shelter. As a result, from inside the shelter when it's dark out you can't see out so you can't see if your bus is coming! Please please please please clean this out. In the future fliers should not be allowed like that. Thank you!!!!!!!
  • 379 Whalley Ave New Haven, CT - Beaver Hills
Catch basin adjacent to the Edge of the Woods parking lot entrance (to the right on the driveway into the lot) is full of dirt and road debris, hampering drainage.
  • Potholes Archived
357 Whalley Ave New Haven, Connecticut - Beaver Hills
Large pothole is back at intersection of Whalley and Winthrop directly under traffic light. This was patched a few weeks back but hole has reopened and could cause serious damage to a tire. Just saw car swerve dangerously to avoid it.
  • 386 Whalley Ave New Haven, Connecticut - Edgewood
They're back again, the street gang drug dealers on bikes, riding the same areas back and forth, right in front of the NHPD substation. There is a difference between someone who is riding a bike to get from here to there, vs the "making-themselves-visible-to-all-here-I-am-can't-miss-me" drug dealer. I will try to get pics from now on and post them.

(Address is estimated.) At 950am, a First Student bus driver sat in front of a home on Norton and beeped incessantly. No one ever came out of the home to board the school bus.

    1. Children are supposed to be outside waiting for the bus, with a parent.

    2. It is inappropriate, inconsiderate, rude, and a form of noise pollution, to lay on a horn incessantly, under any circumstances.

    3. The bus was empty, doesn't school start much earlier than 10am? This was a full size bus. Again - empty.

If anyone has answers to these questions, please respond. Either way, if this does not stop, I am going to contact First Student to complain, and I encourage others to do the same, as this is not an isolated incident - these bus drivers beep for students at the usual school pickup hours as well.
