Hillsborough St. Corp doesn’t give a crap about property abuses

This has bothered me all weekend so I decided to report this. On Friday, the CAT bus driver let other passengers board from NC State by only swiping their GoPass. I had my ID out and when I swiped and walked back to sit down the driver got rude, "You need to come back up here." She wanted to see my ID and then she proceeds to tell me it don't look like me. Well I have cancer and am going through treatment and that's why I don't have hair on my head like my ID shows. If you're going to have a policy to make NC State employees show their ID you should be consistent, make all show their ID, not just those with a lighter tone of skin.

The Raleigh officer sitting at this intersection at 10:30 on Saturday blocking traffic did not need to throw his arms up in the air in disgust and verbally convey frustration that he needed to move his vehicle for me to drive through. Another officer directed me up the street in the first place. As a police officer for another agency, this behavior is completely inappropriate and conduct unbecoming. When we swear to uphold the law enforcement officer code of ethics, this type of behavior is not part of that.

The Meredith College exit ramp is completely filled with potholes. If you go on Google maps, you can even see it from there. Those who travel on that ramp regularly have damage to their tires caused by the potholes.

Not only are drivers exceeding the speed limit on Clark Ave, but they also fail to yield to pedestrians in the marked crosswalk. There is no median and pedestrians are constantly stuck standing in middle of crosswalk as drivers fly past without even hitting the brakes. For pedestrians who choose to wait on the sidewalk until traffic stops, they can stand there for up to five minutes before there is a break in traffic. There is no regulation, and drivers act like they have no knowledge of how to yield to pedestrians. I would love for a plainclothes officer to attempt to cross this street and be amazed by the negligence of drivers.

In front of McDaids Irish restaurant, there are 2 rows deep of tables on the sidewalk making it virtually impossible to walk on the sidewalk without having to turn to squeeze by. I'm skinny and I brushed against the tables as I passed through. There is NO WAY a wheelchair could get through. I'm for outdoor seating, but to take up the entire sidewalk curb to building facade is ridiculous!

This big truck pulls over the curb and parks in the front yard, the owner likes to spin his tires and tear up the yard
  • 217 Gardner Street Raleigh, NC - Wade

The unusual intersection of Gardner St. and Everett Ave. causes confusion and near accidents frequently. The most common scenario is South-bound traffic on Everette (driving counter-clockwise around the Rose Garden) failing to Yield to North-bound traffic on Gardner. The line of sight and street arrangement makes this an easy mistake for drivers, in spite of the signage.

One simple fix that could be effective is to add a dashed white stripe (or whatever is the regulation markings for this situation) to the street surface. Some indication along the east side of Gardner to indicate that it is the primary thoroughfare, would be extremely helpful.
