Notified About

  • Street Sign Acknowledged
2511 Hearst Ave Berkeley, CA, 94709, USA - Berkeley

The flashing speed feedback sign for westbound Hearst Ave between Le Roy Ave and Euclid Ave was clipped by a truck parallel parking and the sign is angled the wrong way and no longer displaying the speed of passing traffic.

Public Works may want to look at moving the sign further away from the curb to prevent future damage.

Hearst Ave & Oxford St Berkeley, CA, 94709, USA - Berkeley

The Eastbound bike lane for Hearst Ave just past the intersection with Oxford St is still blocked by plants / bushes in the City owned traffic triangle. The branches force bicyclists out of the bike lane and into a traffic lane.

You can also see dead brush / leaves sitting in the bike lane on Hearst Ave and Oxford Street.

Previous case was marked as 'resolved' but nothing has improved.

One of the pedestrian crossing lights doesn't turn on anymore when you press it which makes it really dangerous to cross the street at night.

  • Traffic Signal Acknowledged
Le Conte Ave & Arch St Berkeley, CA, 94709, USA - Berkeley
The left turn signal from Hearst onto Arch is actuated by a car in that lane. Unfortunately 40% of the time I am stopped at the intersection the car at the front of the turning lane hasn’t pulled up enough to get the left turn signal. The driver usually assumes the signal is broken and turns in red endangering pedestrians and incoming drivers. The signal needs to be actuated from further back, cycled through automatically, or marked much better.
  • Street Sign Acknowledged
Addison St & Oxford St Berkeley, CA, 94720, USA - Berkeley
The AC Transit bus stop on Oxford Street below Addison was relocated onto the opposite side onto Addison Street but Public Works left the sign in the old location. The bus stop sign is in conflict with the 2-hour public parking signs installed on the same block.
  • Traffic Signal Acknowledged
Bancroft Way & Fulton St Berkeley, CA, 94704, USA - Berkeley
Traffic signal on SW corner Bancroft & Fulton is facing into the wrong direction and giving conflicting traffic phases. In the image the signal head that is green should be facing Westbound Bancroft traffic but it is now pointed towards Northbound Fulton Street which should have a red signal phase. Public Work crews should note that this signal has had a past service request for a similar issue. Periods of high winds seem to cause this issue.

Walk signal skips cycles or never activates for crossing Hearst, even after pushing button.
  • Traffic Signal Acknowledged
Le Conte Ave & Hearst Ave Berkeley, CA, 94709, USA - Berkeley
Downhill Le Conte Ave direction has issues. Waited for 2 cycles at this light directly on top the in-ground sensor and the light never turned green for me. Had to turn right on red and ignore the sign. The other week the signal did turn green but there were 2 cars in the queue. Maybe the first in-ground sensor has failed?
