As i drive by the corner of Ella Grasso and Whalley ave i would like to report trash all over Crown Fried Chicken , dollar store and Dino's Corner store. Littering and loitering by local drug dealers sitting on the front steps house next store to Dino's and also in front of the store . With the new Little Caesar's pizza opening up who would want to order a pizza with the dealers and buyers hanging right across the street , something needs to be done if we want to keep establishments like soon to be Little Caesars on Whalley Ave.
64 Hubinger Street New Haven, Connecticut - Edgewood
There is often a group of men gathered with bikes on sidewalk (bikes parked on sidewalk =illlegal?) and active drug deals from only this house on Hubinger street! i think the house number is 75. please monitor this house, police!
1655-1799 Chapel Street New Haven, Connecticut - Edgewood
Along the north side of Chapel St. from the Bridge to near Ella Grasso Blvd., on the incline into the park, there is a tremendous amount of trash - lots of bottles, cans, paper plates, plastic bags. The entire area was cleaned up by Youth at Work interns less than three weeks ago!
When I drove by Edgewood Park yesterday afternoon I saw two police cars parked driver to driver on the grass meridian, and the entire block was lined with cars - the park filled with Sunday revelers. This morning as I drove by on my way to work I was treated by the sight of trash strewn from end to end along the park on Edgewood and across the street from the park. How I wish I had taken a photo of this, it was disgraceful. What is the difficulty in throwing away wrappers in the provided bins? What is the police presence for other than tearing up the lawn?
This house on our street is for sale. Some men came to clean up and put trash out on the curb. The city won't pick it up, because it includes construction debris. A woman from livable cities said she would do something about it before leaving for vacation. That was two weeks ago. It looks horrible Trash is everywhere and we end up picking it up because it is so embarrassing. And this house has been a problem on the street for years.
On Edgewood avenue green, between Ellsworth avenue and right before Edgewood park and Grasso blvd, there are no garbage cans on the green. People are littering and garbage gets blown around. WE need to combat this as children play here. Public works could put at least two garbage cans next to each bench so that the public would be more likely to use them. The littering has to stop-signs should be posted and the area should be policed.
Driving home this evening I saw a huge pile of dumped wood and black plastic bags dumped at the upper entrance to Edgewood Park. Also, in the meridian near Brownell on Edgewood there has been a tire sitting there for weeks.
I have noticed a significant decline in the quantity of the maintenance in Edgewood Park (especially during an election year when it usually looks better). Not caring properly for our parks now will cause larger expenses in the future. Whomever is in charge of supervising the maintenance needs to do a better job.
