This raises piece of sidewalk has been here since we moved in 6 years ago. Several complaints have been made in the past and the issue has not been addressed. My husband is legally blind and has tripped on this before but has been fortunate not to fall in the past. Sunday my 17 year old niece walked over to my house and tripped and as a result sustained 3 cuts on her knees and one one her elbow and was bleeding. This needs to be fixed because I also have 2 small children ages 3&9 who use this street to walk over withy husband to my mothers house on Appleton street. Thank you!!!!
200 block of Madison Street needs painted lane markings. It’s a residential road but people use as a two lane highway, flying up the right hand side every morning. Please paint lane markings and deploy other traffic calming measures.
This problem is on Arlington St as you turn off of Appleton st. There is a tree on the right hand side of the road that has caused the sidewalk to buckle and raise. The sidewalk here is a trip hazard and the cement slabs are loose and can move
I walked into the center of Malden today to go to Stop & Shop and CVS. On my walk twice, drivers blew through crosswalks while pedestrians occupied them. At Main St. & Ellis St. and then again at Centre St. & Ferry St.. At the Ferry Street intersection there is a walk light and it was on for the pedestrians. Still the driver was yelling at us as he pulled a left turn through the light. I only bringing this up because drivers blowing through crosswalks has been on a steep increase lately in my experience. Thank you.
This is the intersection of Charles St & Commercial St,drivers make 2 lanes and sometimes both lanes of traffic go straight through the intersection however on the other side of Charles St there is only 1 lane. No markings on the Road or signs , it’s dangerous.
Every year I write to your Department about People's United Bank that they NEVER shovel and every year nothing is done about it. It is an absolute disgrace! I am so sick of risking myself falling because they cannot shovel their sidewalks or a path to get to the street. I can guarantee The City of Malden will get sued eventually when someone ends up falling and really hurting themselves. Not to mention anyone with a handicap disability would have no way of even getting to the sidewalk to walk or move themselves in a wheelchair. Start fining these people! I have pictures but the site will not let me upload them for some reason. I do have them on my phone if you would like me to send them to you directly. It's been over 24hours since that storm, I expect it to be cleared today!
National grid, again, has decided not to shovel its sidewalks along Commercial or Charles streets. When is the city going to impose a fee/penalty for this? $1.00 per linear foot would mean 2000-3000 per storm if they decide to continue. Or the city can offer to shovel for them and invoice them hourly for the work. This is literally across the street from the train station, thousands of people walk here every day. Snow is a reality in Massachusetts, but so is shoveling.
