We were up in Waitt's Mountain with our children and saw garbage EVERYWHERE. This is so sad because we just helped clean the park for 4 hours a few weeks ago. It looks like a garbage bag was ripped open and strewn all about.
I just witnessed yet ANOTHER near head on collision caused by a reckless driver turning from Winter onto Autumn. This one drove past stopped traffic the full length of the block on Winter from Banks to Autumn on the wrong side of the double yellow, before nearly hitting a car head on turning right from Autumn onto Winter. This is CONSTANT during the evening rush hour, whenever the traffic backs up from Main. I have nearly been hit more times than I can count, as has probably just about every driver who lives in this neighborhood. The behavior is horrendously dangerous, not only for other drivers, but especially for pedestrians who have no reason to expect a car driving the wrong way. As I posted before, I saw a woman and two young children almost run over a few months back by a driver pulling this exact same stunt. The area is dangerous enough without this being tolerated. We need some enforcement here please. Between this and the drivers flying the wrong way up Kenmore as a short cut, it is only a matter of time before something very bad happens.
While clearing snow around parked cars a backhoe dumped large piles of snow (6-10 feet high) on the sidewalks at the intersections of Main Street and Kenmore, Rosemont and Wedgemere Roads. All sidewalks are now impassable at these corners, and the large mounds block visibility for vehicles making turns. Can these be removed on Fri Jan 5 before they freeze solid?
Light flashes red and yellow. No one knows what this means. Some people stop and most people do not. This is a hazard, right in front of a fire station. What is the deal with the traffic department in Malden? Please improve.
People continuously run the red arrow at this intersection, every single day, including MBTA buses and police/fire non-emergency vehicles. As a pedestrian who crosses this intersection twice a day, I've nearly been hit multiple times. It's very dangerous and needs to be dealt with. I see that multiple complaints have been made about this problem over the years and nothing has been done to improve safety.
Insurance fraud/illegal registration. This vehicle is a fixture in the neighborhood. I have observed it multiple times per month since mid-summer (at least six months). Despite that, the vehicle continues to bear FL plates. The vehicle is clearly not principally garaged in FL. No doubt, the owner is getting a significant savings on both registration fees, and more importantly, insurance premiums. This is rate evasion and constitutes insurance fraud. It is a crime and a serious problem that costs the rest of us who are honest to pay higher premiums to offest the fraud. Please investigate. If the city cannot for some reason, please provide the appropriate contact information to report the owner to state insurance fraud investigators. Thank you.
The Malden YMCA is a gem in the city. The street scape is in terrible condition. The sidewalk adjacent to the entrance is broken down and crumbling, the sidewalk on the YMCA side of the street has a large block of concrete jutting out, the two crosswalks are faded, street lighting is dim and not located in the correct spots. Additional crosswalk are needed at all the crossing points. Please help improve the look of this building which is teeming with children and elders. The YMCA has done a lot of work to improve the appearance of their property. The opposite side of the street is a critical mess with a crumbling side walk, missing curbing and curbing in which when stepped on gives out under your foot. Also, the street is filled with pot holes.
Is live parking allowed on Commercial Street outside of the Malden Center MBTA station? There is one "No Parking Any Time" sign will arrows pointing in both directions posted, but nearly every morning during rush hour there is at least one taxi or livery vehicle parked in this location blocking the right southbound lane of Commercial Street. There is visible parking enforcement here in the afternoons, but it is needed in the mornings as well. Can enforcement happen in the morning? Or more signage be placed in this area? This is referring to parking on actual Commercial Street and not in the designated drop off/pick up area of Commercial Street in front of the T station.
