Sidewalks are closed on both sides of Main and both sides of Forest. Pedestrians must walk in the street through a construction zone with no area marked off for them to do so. The dangers of this intersection are well documented. And it is a major pedestrian route for the T station. Please come up with a plan to allow pedestrians to safely navigate before someone gets hurt here.

This is a great example of the problem. Most able-bodied people, like the mayor, will no doubt look at this and say the sidewalk is passable. The problem is that the ADA requires sidewalks to be at least 36 inches wide. The position of this bike leaves less than that distance. That it is only a few inches may seem inconsequential. But for someone in a wheelchair just an inch can make all the difference in the world in terms of accessibility. And that accessibility is guaranteed by federal law. The problem here is that city officials know full well that in one instance after another, these bikes are narrowing our sidewalks and impeding access by the disabled. Nevertheless they continue to defend this program and make all manner of excuses for it despite their knowledge that it is repeatedly impeding access for the disabled by effectively reducing sidewalk widths to less than minimum ADA standards. The contempt that these officials show for the rights of the mobility impaired is disgraceful.

I previously reported this problem (almost a week ago). But I have received no response from Permits, Inspection, and Planning. I am requesting that this be forwarded to the city's ADA compliance officer, and to anyone else with oversight over matters such as this, and that action be taken promptly.

This is a blatant violation of the ADA, a misuse of a public sidewalk, a hazard to all pedestrians (not just the disabled), and simply a violation of common sense. I'm all for outdoor seating (like near the front door of the establishment) when there is sufficient room for it. But this is not OK. I cannot possibly imagine that the city has authorized this.

Nearly the entire pedestrian through zone, which should be at least five to seven feet wide, and under no circumstances should be less than four, has been taken for this private establishment's seating. What remains is a narrow strip roughly three feet wide to the curb. That not only obstructs wheelchair access but presents a serious risk to a person in one. The rope, which is tied to a city sign at one end, is at or below knee level (in fact, at times, the establishment allows it to rest on the ground), posing a trip hazard, especially to a visually impaired person. In addition, the planters to which the rope is attached are not affixed to the ground. Instead they are precariously balanced on stacked cement tiles. The whole thing is both illegal and a serious accident waiting to happen. It endangers not only those attempting to pass by, but also patrons of the establishment. Please address it before someone gets badly hurt. Thank you.

Some departments seem to respond rather quickly to see click fix issues and update the site as to the progress of issues if it is an issue that cannot be immediately resolved like the parking department. But their seems to be a large amount of see click fix issues that remain open with absolutely no action for long amounts of time like the Engineering Department. In the name of transparency please post a list showing the amount of open see click fix issues by department as well as the average time to complete these issues from start to finish. The taxpayers of this city are entitled to know which departments are actually working hard and which departments are on cruise control just collecting a paycheck while ignoring their duties.

Thank you Malden for the beautiful fountain and flowing water feature that you have installed at this location. It has been here for a week now and all of the residents just LOVE it. In fact, we are considering hosting a neighborhood regatta. Many of us are however concerned by what it is doing to the street and the ground under it, and by the amount of water being wasted. Several hundred gallons per day must being going right down the drain. Literally.
