I'm writing to request a traffic lighting change to help with more efficient traffic flow. On the intersection of Main & Winter street there is a set of traffic lights. The flow from the outside streets goes as follows:
    1) Green: Main Street; Red: Forest Street; Red: Winter Street
    2) Green: Winter Street; Red: Main Street; Red: Forest Street
    3) Green: Forest Street; Red: Main Street; Red: Winter Street
Since there is a significant amount of traffic that occurs on Main Street, I'm writing to request that there be a slight delay when the light is green for Main Street (on the side coming from Melrose towards Malden). This will allow vehicles on Main Street (heading towards Melrose) to make a left turn onto Winter Street since there is no protected turn light signal located on this corner. This will significantly decrease congestion during rush hour since many vehicles head towards Oak Grove station during that time. Currently, the traffic is typically so congested that only 1 or 2 cars have time to turn before the light changes. When traffic is quite condensed, no cars can make the left turn.
    Thank you for your time.

Yet another bike on the sidewalk. Please keep the sidewalks clear for WALKING, not PARKING. We need a bikeshare that uses DOCKS.
  • Intersection Of Main St. And Mountain Ave Malden, Massachusetts - Malden Ward 4
The crosswalk at Main St and Mountain Ave is signaled by the antiquated method of red and yellow traffic lights lighting up simultaneously rather than a crossing light. I see cars fail to stop at the signal routinely as families, the elderly, and children try to cross the streets. I don't think the drivers even realize what the signal means. This intersection is a main crossing point for the people travelling to the Early Learning Center, YMCA, and senior housing. I think an actual crosswalk light would be helpful. Also, a signal that beeps when the walk light is lit would be useful here as multiple visually impaired pedestrians make use of this crossing in their daily lives.

Any update on the intersection at main/winter/forest?? Last I heard it was referred to complete street but someone is going to get killed here. Between cars jumping the light on main and now today I was stopped at the light on winter coming up from oak grove. We were the first car at the light and car behind us (a white lift car, happened too fast to get a license plate) decided they couldn’t wait and swerved around us and speed through the intersection down forest st. I believe the walk signal was on but thankfully no was in the two cross walked he bombed through. I see other cars use the bank parking lot to try avoid the light. Now supposedly there is a camera near the funeral home but do the ever review it??

I don’t know what the solution is but they have to take a serious look at this intersection before someone is killed.

There is some inconsiderate jerk who rides his extremely loud motorcycle around this neighborhood (Main st and Fairlawn, Wedgemere, Rosemont, Kenmore and Autumn) at the worst hours. He woke up the neighborhood this morning at 4 am and again just before 6 am. He usually heads left on Main st towards Melrose but sometimes heads into Malden. This is extremely frustrating and is interrupting quality of life in this neighborhood. I understand he’s allowed to ride his motorcycle but there have to be laws against making so much noise with it all the time. He’s too fast for me when I run outside to try to confront him. Can the police set up something to get a hold of him and explain that there are people with jobs in this area who need to sleep at night? I’m also sure that people with young kids don’t appreciate this jerk interfering with them getting a full night’s sleep. This has gone on for a while now, something has to be done.

coming from the square when making a left turn on to main street there is a sign that says left turn on green arrow only. constantly ignored by people turning left including buses. congests the traffic and I see pedestrians almost get hit along with accidents ive seen happen because they run the red light evan after its been red for more than 30 seconds.

can you something about this insertion? cars don't pay attention to the no turn on red and the crosswalk is hard to see during the day because it is bent. thanks
  • 28 Autumn St Malden, MA 02148, USA - Malden Ward 4
We need a traffic officer at the intersection of Autumn and Winter please. Traffic has been rerouted due to construction on Main. As a result, traffic is backed up down Autumn as far as I can see. Rosemont is backed all the way to Main. Autumn is in complete gridlock. Residents are stuck. There needs to be an officer to hold traffic on Winter so that traffic can clear Autumn. Thank you.

I am wondering why the attached city ordinance is not being enforced
No person, other than the city collector or an authorized representative of a private waste contractor, shall scavenge or remove waste which has been placed at the curb for collection.

I find it unacceptable to have people doing this in our city.

    Thank you
