Notified About

  • 890 Elm St New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Edgewood
The white vacant house at 890 Elm St is being actively used for heavy drug use. Broken window in back provides easy access.
  • Willow St./ Nicoll St. Intersection New Haven, Connecticut - East Rock
As a major through road, Willow St. (specifically the intersection at Willow St. & Nicoll St.) desperately needs to be repaved and re-marked/re-striped! The road and intersection is laden with uneven pavement, divots and potholes, which are not only hazardous to vehicles and pedestrians, but also result in loud, unnecessary noise in a residential area, especially when large trucks and commercial vehicles speed down Willow St. The very worn out pavement marking and stripping at the intersection is also a hazard to pedestrians as speeding cars are not properly signaled that they are driving through a very busy pedestrian crossing area.
  • mugging Archived
Court And Olive 06511 - Wooster Square
From the New Haven Independent. This all seems to continue.
At 8:15 p.m. on Thursday, four men mugged someone at the corner of Court and
Olive Streets. Two of the muggers had handguns. They took a cellphone and a
    black wallet with $25.

someone needs to fix this asap. this continues to happen at the *same* location, on a nightly or regular basis. why can't we get some more attention to this matter.
  • Potholes Archived
100 Cold Spring Street New Haven, Connecticut - East Rock
Large pothole on the street in front of the driveway at 100 Cold Spring Street. Continues to grow/get worse in width and depth.
  • 87 Union Street New Haven, Connecticut - Wooster Square
The lamp focused into the Union Street Dog Park, mounted on the pole in the park near the service gate is not working. Thanks, United Illuminating!
  • 137 Orange St New Haven, CT 06510, USA - Town_Green
Ideat Village permits for Pitkin Plaza have been curtailed from having any amplification after 7:45pm, impacting most of our free, outdoor, participatory programming. This decision is arbitrary, and not in the best interests of the public at large. We have diverse, eclectic programming scheduled to go until 10pm, as we have done downtown, in the City of New Haven, for the last 9 years.
  • Dangerous crossing Acknowledged
    44 Whitney Ave New Haven, CT 06510 - Town_Green
because of the set up between Whitney Ave and Audubon Street, there pedestrians are constantly dashing across Whitney Avenue - frequently while holding small children. We need a crosswalk!
  • 1073 1123 Chapel St New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Downtown

This police cruiser pulled up and blocked half of the intersection at Chapel and High. Then the two cops went to starbucks to get their coffee.

I wish I could get away with parking like that.

  • 80 116 Church St New Haven, CT 06510, USA - Town_Green

more needs to be done to prevent this coffeeshop from becoming a hangout for the homeless. (i don't deny that more needs to be done FOR the homeless, but this one business should not shoulder that burden/suffer because business is driven away.)

every time i visit here, i hear disrespectful language yelled across the store, conversations about drugs including potential drug deals right in the store, and generally offensive conversations. it is very frustrating that this happens often in front of children and first-time visitors to new haven.

i see the same several faces every time who commit these acts. after one guy yelled "f you" loudly across the entire store, i turned and made a motion to calm down with my hand, because there was a 3 or 4 year old in line behind me. he responded with " bl*w me".

bars can ban certain customers who do not behave themselves. can starbucks begin to do the same?

  • Olive St & Grand Ave New Haven, CT 06511 - Wooster Square
Please add a Walk signal and striping. It is unsafe for pedestrians to cross at Olive and Grand.
  • 57 Pearl St New Haven, CT 06511 - SOHU
    Sidewalk is disintegrating into gravel.
  • 150 Whalley Ave. New Haven, CT - Dwight

Shaw's is closing all CT stores but has not found a buyer for the Whalley Ave. location. The New Haven region could really benefit from the opening of a year-round market inside and around the Shaw's shopping center (there is an enormous, underutilized parking lot there also). I'm not sure about the zoning so I'm hoping someone could check on that.

The market could potentially provide year-round access to fresh produce and crafts, it could serve the city as a public space, and simultaneously help to sustain the local economy in these uncertain times.
