Piedmont Pines Neighborhood Association

Notified About

  • Colton Blvd Oakland, California - Montclair
The intersection of Colton & Heartwood is a disaster waiting to happen. At this crossroad, only 1 direction has a stop sign. I have witnessed several near misses lately as traffic traveling up Heartwood makes a left onto Colton (there is no stop sign) and traffic going down Colton continues straight on to Colton (again no stop sign). This needs to be a 4 way stop. With the increased traffic due to the long standing closure of Snake Rd, this is a very dangerous intersection.

2744 Mountain Blvd Oakland, California - Piedmont Pines
The whole street (Mountain Blvd) between Ascot dr and Joaquin Miller dr is some many pot holes it’s an obstacle course. This has been going on for years. Now many are marked with red. If this means these are just going to be patched again, it’s a joke. It’s been patched so many times that’s it’s just a series on bumps with holes. For gods sake just repack the full street along highway 13.
  • 6728 Aitken Drive Oakland, California - Piedmont Pines
Large depression in middle of street that causes most cars to bottom out. Seems to be getting deeper.
  • Snake Rd & Shepherd Canyon Rd Oakland, CA, 94611, USA - Shepherd Canyon
We are in need of better signage during the road work. Drivers are still misunderstanding the detour signs heading east on Snake and driving into oncoming traffic on Shepherd Canyon, rather than taking the detour up the hill on Snake. This could be remedied by either moving the road closed sign to the intersection, or adding a DO NOT enter sign at the Shepherd Canyon. Extremely dangerous conditions persist.

2666 Mountain Blvd Oakland 94611, United States - Piedmont Pines
We have a dangerous tree that is hanging over the parking lot area. This is an area we block off for preschool children to play. The tree is leaning dangerously and the roots are uplifting, causing the surrounding fence and structures outside the lodge to come apart. This is a dangerous situation for us and for all the renters who rent the lodge on the weekends.
  • 5801 Chelton Dr Oakland, CA, 94611, USA - Piedmont Pines
So many potholes to choose from on Chelton but this one is now about 8 inches deep. Cant someone at least do a temporary fill?
  • 6160 Ascot Drive Oakland, California - Piedmont Pines
Particularly a problem at night (but also during the day), downhill traffic on Ascot Drive gets confused and flies into the cul de sac at a high rate of speed rather than following Ascot Drive downhill and to the left. This happens several times a day/night!
There are several contributing factors: signage is not visible to downhill traffic (it is on left rather than right & behind parked cars/shrubbery), road striping & reflectors were removed during utility undergrounding and not replaced, street lighting at night - the downhill light is around the curve and not visible. Only the street light in the court is visible which causes drivers to get confused. Neighbors have had their car hit twice by hit and run. Another neighbor had their car totaled and their garage door demolished. I have been nearly hit by cars while walking my dog on several nights.
  • 6038 Snake Rd Oakland, CA, 94611, USA - Montclair
This depression has been present for a long time, delivers a strong jolt to the car when driven over and is a serious risk to wheels and tires. It needs to be repaired soon!
  • 2666 Mountain Blvd Oakland, CA, 94611, USA - Piedmont Pines
Roots from an unsafe tree leaning over the Sequoia Lodge parking lot are also destroying the fence that runs alongside the tree. The fence runs alongside the deck surrounding the lodge and many nails are now exposed.
  • 2187 Magellan Dr Oakland, CA, 94611, USA - Shepherd Canyon
Mudslide/Landslide on the city property/hill. This is washing debris & mud into the Pathway below and causing disruption. The city should put some erosion control or mitigation in place to stop the mudslide.
  • 2666 Mountain Blvd Oakland, CA, 94611, USA - Piedmont Pines
A large tree branch is blocking a number of parking spots in the parking lot at the Sequoia Lodge.
  • Park - Sign Acknowledged
5700-5848 Ascot Dr Oakland, CA 94611, USA - Piedmont Pines
Need no parking sign on both sides of Ascot Dr across from Larry Lane. Unsafe when people park there and force downhill drivers into oncoming traffic.
