South Arlington

Notified About

  • 1720-1724 Columbia Pike Arlington, VA - Penrose
Drivers heading towards the Pentagon/395 fail to stop for the light at S Quinn Street and Columbia Pike. Since September, I have seen 4 cars run the light and have nearly been in accidents!
  • 1724 Columbia Pike Arlington, VA - Penrose
County police set up a trap very often to catch unsuspecting drivers going straight on Columbia Pike from the right lane during morning rush hour. Signage and road markings are difficult to read with small print and do not stand out. The idea is that drivers should be able to turn right onto the 395 onramp from the left lane, but it is a poorly designed idea; rarely do people turn right from the left lane because they know it is dangerous to do so. The idea may work in theory but does not work in practice. The county should eliminate this ridiculous rush hour turn lane system and remove the police trap along with it.
  • 2201-2299 8th Street South Arlington, Virginia - Penrose
Homeowner has painted the new curb red and posted their own "no parking" sign. Apparently they want to reserve this part of the road for their own trash cans on trash day. They also built a platform for their cans on a public right-of-way where these receptacles need to be stored out of sight on non-collection days.

S Courthouse Rd And Columbia Pike Arlington, VA - Penrose
Pothole right in the middle of Columbia Pike.
  • Columbia Pike And George Mason Drive Arlington, VA - Barcroft
I live in Arlington, feel good about where I am in life, but am routinely reminded about how much work I have left to do every time I see this brotha jumpin' around and talking to himself with that big silly hat on. I am actually convinced North Arlington Real Estate developers pay that cash hard cold cash to do his jig and drive the folks -no more willing than ever- to drive UP the road the overpay for the same pile of bricks and sticks we got on the Southie side. HELP!!!!!!!!!

Road patch heading south on S. Wakefield St. across Columbia Pike is too low and jarring to drive over. Please raise it to be level with the road.

  • S. Chesterfield Rd. Arlington va 22206, arlington, va 22206 - Claremont
no stop signs on Dinwiddie Street going around circle, it is an accident waiting to happen because cars already on the circle get ambushed by cars who don't have to stop coming from either side of Dinwiddie Street. I feel there should be a stop sign on Dinwiddie as well.
  • S. Chesterfield Rd. Arlington va 22206, arlington, va - Claremont

no stop signs on Dinwiddie Street going around circle, it is an accident waiting to happen because cars already on the circle get ambushed by cars who don't have to stop coming from either side of Dinwiddie Street. I feel there should be a stop sign on Dinwiddie as well.

The small signs on Dinwiddie are ignored by drivers even though pedestrians/students from Wakefield H.S. walk during lunch times or dismissals AND ARE ALREADY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. The RED OCTOGON SIGNS NEED TO BE PLACED THERE SO DRIVERS CAN RESPECT PEOPLE AND WE ALL CAN SAFELY GO ACROSS THE STREET.
The stop signs needed to be placed on the Dinwiddie side.

  • S Walter Reed Dr Arlington, VA - Penrose
Cars merge from Arlington Blvd and Walter Reed dr. on to Wash. Blvd at the same place There are lots of No-Merge signs, but traffic is too fast there in the morning for persons trying to get on from Walter Reed Dr. after a stop sign. Many accidents. I'd recommend restricting Wash Blvd to one lane after the bridge, and adding a light only for the Arlington blvd merge lane to allow the persons from WW Dr. to get on the highway without risking their lives.
