Vallejo's Abandoned Triangle Archived710 Mare Island Way Vallejo, California - Vallejo
Does anyone at City Hall acknowledge responsibility for -- or even care about -- the blighted, and raped, once lovely and landscaped mini-park at the bottom of Louisiana Street, and demarcated by Trinity Street, Harbor Way, and Packard Alley?
Scraped bare by city earth movers, bordered by derelict, grafittied KRail....

What's Happening on Butte Street? Archived500 Butte Street Vallejo, California - VallejoThe entire length of Butte Street -- from the Steps on Florida Street, all the way to the Causeway on Tennessee Street.has a string of huge cavities covered with massive steel plates. Neighborhood disruption -- not just closures on Butte itself, but closure of cross streets, and parking of construction equipment two or more blocks away -- came to a sudden end on New Years Eve. leaving those giant holes and their steel lids in place and abandoned. I tried Public Works and City Hall's Ministry of Truth, and found only one link -- to SeeClickFix! So what's happening

Suspicious activity Archived237 Ohio Street Vallejo, California - VallejoUp to ten pickup trucks, loaded with junk and trash, and parked in driveway, and on street overnight -- at a 2 bedroom house! People coming and going at all hours but, when observed by neighbors, walking on by, and returning later. Drunken arguments and fighting on nearby streets - police have been called. Some kind of demolition and construction going on in the rear, not visible from the street, but involving a concrete mixer.

Illegal Dumping Archived37 Ohio Street Vallejo, California - VallejoWho says you couldn't dump a full-size shipping container in the middle of a modern American city without stirring up a prime ruckus -- well they were wrong. This container continues its month's long tenure as the largest lawn ornament in town.

Branciforte Progress Update Archived719-799 Branciforte Street Vallejo California - VallejoSure, I know it's a closed case, and it's not like I'm expecting anything to get better, but I walked down Branciforte - the only street in town with a city approved "TRASH HERE" sign - today, and, yes:
* The boat, and its oil slick are still there
** The green abandoned pickup truck is still there, with its bed filling up with further drive-by trash, but not, unfortunately..
*** the Amazon shipping box -- that's still laying out in the street, a little flattened but surviving.
**** And now as a new edition, there is a huge, unhitched house trailer. -
