Notified About

  • 101-119 North Salisbury Street Raleigh North Carolina - North Central
The new lane markings with the bike lane at the intersection of Salisbury and Edenton are unclear. People are using the area to the right of the bike lane as a turn lane instead of staying in the lane marked with a straight/turn arrow to the left of the bike lane. Hash marks between the bike lane and the sidewalk would be helpful.
  • Blount St. And Edenton Raleigh, NC - Blount Corridor
The iron circular covers to city water lines on Blount street and Edenton and some other intersections are STILL there open with a hole worn right through them. I thought that is was reported they were all fixed? How hard is it to replace them. Someone crossing on foot at night is at risk of a terrible accident! Please fix these, were are paying the salaries of workers to take care of these things, not the lawsuits that someone has to bring to take care of medical bills. I know this was already reported yet i can find no record now.

  • 575-597 N State St Raleigh, NC - North Central
The sidewalk ends on the St. Augustine side of N. State Street and then immediately picks up on the Oakwood Cemetery side of the street. There is no crosswalk and no signage (pedestrian crossing ahead). This location is close to a sharp curve in the road and it is very dangerous. Cars cannot see pedestrians until they are around the curve and there is very little reaction time. There needs to be a crosswalk painted here and crosswalk signs are needed as well.
  • 600-698 Monroe Drive Raleigh, North Carolina - North Central

I live around the corner from Oakwood Park and have two issues with the park.

    1. Many of the dog owners who visit this park seem to be law-abiding, respectful citizens. However, a few bad apples spoils the whole bunch. Several people refuse to follow the basic rules of the park. On a daily basis, I see dog owners who just open their car door and let their dog(s) run free through the parking lot as they follow behind them, walking to the gate. It is not the dog's fault, but an excited dog will often sprint up to me as I am walking my young daughter through the park. These owners need to leash their dogs until they are inside the park. Speaking of inside the park, many owners do not even GO inside, opting instead for the openness and freedom of the softball fields. I guess these are the kind of carefree spirits who believe that nothing else matters when they are throwing a frisbee with Fido. Who cares if the neighborhood children have to fight with entitled dog owners when they want to use the park, or if softball/kickball players have to dive through piles of dog puke and poop? This is ridiculous and selfish.

    2. At night, this spot is a popular spot to go park with a prostitute and/or do some drugs. I have seen condoms (at least they use condoms, I guess...), crackpipes, broken bottles and other signs of late night mischief. In my opinion, anybody within this parking lot after dark should get a visit from the RPD. The signs clearly state that the park closes at dusk.

I can't be the only one who feels this way....

Please, PLEASE, tell us how to address these issues.

  • 700 Tyler Road Raleigh, NC 27604, USA - North Central
    Tyler Road sign is missing
  • 1-7 W Peace St Raleigh, NC 27605, USA - North Central
Folks have gotten lax about taking the right turn from eastbound Peace to southbound Salisbury from 7-9 am. If the city has an interest in keeping the sign, some renewed enforcement might be in order.
  • Jaywalkers Archived
1401 New Bern Avenue Raleigh, NC 27610, USA - North Central
There is a lack of pedestrian crossing signals and sidewalks along the New Bern Ave. corridor, which leads to pedestrians jaywalking at all hours. Given the recent hit and run incident of a pedestrian just several blocks away, the city should do more to prevent this problem.
