  • Road Cracks Acknowledged

    I was working on an issue with APS requesting pictures. I noticed there were cracks in the streets around the area. The attached image is one of them. Should the cracks be taken care of? Please inform.
  • 11200 Overlook Drive Ne Albuquerque, New Mexico - John Robert

    The flood/emergency access route running from Overlook Drive (between 11200 and 11204 Overlook Drive NE, 87111) to Bear Canyon Open Space is blocked, overgrown and appears to be purposely hidden and impeded, creating a safety hazard.

    Last year there was a fire on the South side of the arroyo and the fire department used a similar emergency access route to put it out before homes were destroyed. If the same situation arose near the Overlook Drive access, the firefighters would not be able to get through and property and perhaps lives would be lost.

    The emergency access route has swinging gates and locks, so it was made to be opened. The Albuquerque GIS map shows that this is government land. Nonetheless, someone has planted and watered trees and vegetation and dumped refuse so that the gates cannot open properly. Additionally, someone has welded metal to the gates to prevent pedestrians from using the access route.

    I am concerned because:

    1. Fire, police and emergency personnel will be unable to find or use the access route because of the actions of some unknown individual (but likely the adjoining landowner);

    2. Flood water will not flow freely through the access route because of added vegetation, landscaping and welded metal;

    3. The public, including neighbors from the Overlook neighborhood, are denied access to the open space because of the wrongful and self-focused actions of an unknown individual or individuals who have disguised and blocked access to the public land.

    Thank you for your prompt action to remedy this safety hazard.

  • 121 Charleston Se Albuquerque, NM - Trumbull Village
    Looks like they have broken into the 3rd (the one out of sight from the street) apartment. I've seen the same people going into and out of the rear of the complex many times in the past few days.
    Plus, when is the city going to clean up the trash left behind before? The garbage and trash front and back in the area is most definitely unsightly!
  • Pothole Archived
    480 Treasure Stone Dr. Sw Albuquerque, New Mexico - Westgate Hts
    There are several very large cracks on the asphalt that need to be filled or streets need to be re-paved. Several kids including my grandson have had their bikes or skateboards fall into the cracks causing them to fall and be injured.

  • 11000 Spain Road Northeast Albuquerque, New Mexico - John Robert
    Albuquerque has a traffic congestion problem. why do we continue to cut traffic flow in half by adding bicycle lanes that are used by fewer that 0.01% of the population? Spain is being re-striped from 4 lanes to two lanes with bicycle lanes being added. Nobody asked me or anyone else in my neighborhood. I am not paying taxes to support bicyclists. I am infuriated by this action and I demand that Spain be returned to 4 lanes. Let the bicyclists use the sidewalk. It was good enough for many generations before, it is good enough for them. Bicycles should not be on the streets. Accidents happen, and every time a vehicle meets a bicycle, the bicycle loses.

  • 1500-1504 La Charles Dr Ne Albuquerque, NM 87112, USA - Albuquerque
    There are no traffic control devices near Chelwood Elementary School: No speed signs, no school zone signs, no crosswalk, no speed bumps. Over 100 people cross daily during school many of them children. It is a dangerous situation.
  • Juan Tabo Blvd Ne And Montgomery Blvd Ne Albuquerque, NM - S Y Jackson
    The illuminated street name sign on the traffic signal at the northeast corner of Juan Tabo and Montgomery is burnt out.
  • San Gabriel Rd Ne Albuquerque, NM - San Gabriel
    Mitchell Elementary needs a crossing guard at San Gabriel and Inca. There are multiple cars parked along the sides of the street leaving one lane open for cars to move up and down the street, since the street has cars parked along the sides it blocks others view and many accidents have almost happened. People are also parked in the cross walks because they are too impatient to wait for enough space to proceed forward to pick up their child. I've also witnessed several people almost getting hit walking across the cross walks by cars because the people driving do not pay attention to the stop sign or are speeding. Ive complained to the school, called 242-COPS, 311, and have reported it once on here before and it was closed without a second glance while petty things are being solved instead, we're talking about childrens lives.
