Picked up my child yesterday at JFK day camp and I can't believe how the entrances look to the school. The Red/Blue/White house entrances are all in desperate need of paint and possible repair. This is a HUGE embarrasement to the town and I can't believe I send my child to a school that looks like this. I asked my other child that was in the car with his friend and they both said, this is nothing new. This is unacceptable!

1010 Enfield St Enfield, Connecticut - polytest
There are trees hanging over the fence on the north side of the school. Potentially dangerous if the wind and rain knock the tree or its branches down.

  • Intersection Of Sword Avenue & Connecticut Avenue Enfield, Connecticut - polytest

I have previously reported on the following issue for the past three years. Once again the summer is coming to an end and this problem has not been resolved. The sight line at the corner of Sword Avenue and Connecticut Avenue is not safe due to a high flower garden at the house on the corner of Sword and Connecticut Avenue. Also the vegetation around the Sword Avenue bridge is also a problem. The vegetation has been trimmed back once this year but has begun to grow back. As far as the wild flowers they are right up against the roadside curb. I would think that there must be a town right of way to keep a streets sight line visible without having to drive out into the street to see if you are clear to move on. This is a hazard for our neighborhood children, residents and autos. I am dismayed that my previous complaint on this exact same issue would be closed out without proper resolution. I also placed a phone call to Matt Coppler our town manager and left my concerns on his voicemail. This was approximately 5 days ago and I have not received a response of any kind.

In addition to the above issue and in the same area is the condition of both sides of the street where you round the corner on Connecticut Avenue to the intersection of Sword Avenue. There are trees growing on the road itself as well as severe overgrowth of vegetation onto both sides of Connecticut Avenue. It looks like a jungle.

I find it very sad that after three years this cannot be resolved. I also do not appreciate our town manager Matt Coppler's lack of response! I would hope our not so cheap property taxes could be utilized to eradicate this very simple issue. Once again thank you for your time and I look forward to a full and final resolution to these problems.

  • Meadowlark Road Enfield, CT - polytest
PLEASE I am begging someone to change the speed limit on out street to 15 mph and put a cop on our street. It is outright dangerous on this road now!! All that was done last time was a speed ticker was put at the end of the road near where people have this upcoming stop sign anyway. Something has to be done, please help the residents of Meadowlark Road.
  • Elm St Enfield, Connecticut - polytest
There has been a steady increase in the presence of homeless people begging for money around Elm St. It is a major traffic and safety hazard, especially when they approach cars. This has been noticed the most often by the 91 offramps, the intersection of 220 with Freshwater Blvd, in front of the road to DD/McDonalds, and in front of the road going into Friendly's/Enfield Square Mall. Please monitor and address this growing problem.

The left turn arrow turning into the Enfield Square does not work properly making it very dangerous trying to see beyond traffic sitting at the opposite side waiting to turn into Stateline Plaza. Needs to be fixed.

Town Farm Road Enfield, Connecticut - polytest
While at the Dog Park off Town Farm Rd. there were ATV's and dirt bikes speeding up and down the entrance road. I took the dog to the hill across the road where people hit golf balls and the same people were racing up and down the hill with no concern for anyone there. Are motorized vehicles allowed there? It was 4Pm or so.
