Route 34-New Haven

Notified About

  • 229 George St New Haven, CT - Town_Green
Ever notice how New Haven traffic lights (not just this one, other lights such as at Temple and Crown do this as well) continue to have a four-way red to allow pedestrians to cross in all directions? This makes sense during the day, when there are a lot of pedestrians, but it is pointless past midnight certainly during the week and past 2am on weekends. It is really annoying to get stuck at a light for 30 seconds with a four-way walk sign flashing and zero pedestrians anywhere in sight while driving home late. There must be a way to have a daytime pattern and a nighttime pattern.

328 South Frontage Rd New Haven, CT 06519 - Dwight
Traffic heading onto the highway speed everyday, putting cross walkers at risk. Could there be a pedestrian bridge built ?
  • George & Church New Haven, CT - Town_Green
On just the 2nd day of classes, I have noticed piles of cigarette butts all over the sidewalks surrounding Gateway's gorgeous new campus. Smokers must throw their cigarettes in garbage cans. (Please do not install ashtrays.) Additionally, I hope Gateway administrators will consider making Gateway a smoke-free campus.
  • 200 Orchard Street New Haven, Connecticut - New Haven - Ward 03
Even after the campaign was warned again about the $250 fine yesterday they but up 3 more signs on the corner of Orchard and Frontage Rd. All the other signs have not been removed yet. PW needs to start fining.
  • 26 Union Ave New Haven, CT 06519 - Hill
You pretty much have to take Union Avenue to get to Union Station. If Union Avenue is not bicycle-accessible, then Union Station is not truly bicycle-accessible.
  • 54 Meadow St New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Hill
With all the interest in recycling, and the fact that recycling can often make money, why don't the new haven public schools have a comprehensive recycling program? Surely we can find room in the curriculum to teach our children to take care of their world!
  • 100 Temple Street New Haven, Connecticut - Town_Green
There are very often homeless, drug addicts and/or drunks loitering in the shelter on Temple St at Kelly House. I always feel unsafe walking by. Also, there is a very strong urine odor, always. I feel badly for those who need to legitimately use the bus shelter while waiting for the bus. We need more police on foot patrolling. Something must be done to clean up this issue.
  • 1 Union Ave New Haven, Connecticut - Hill

The Police Union is trying to stall the Police Chief from equipping all New Haven Officers with body cams.

This is a ticket to ask the Police Union to respect the Chief and Citizen's request to equip Officers with body cameras immediately.

  • Porter St New Haven, CT 06511, USA - West River

  • Oak St Connector New Haven, CT 06519, USA - Hill
Trash in parking lot is the first impression of New Haven that visitors get coming from the train station. We can do better!
  • 1123 Ella T Grasso Boulevard New Haven, Connecticut - New Haven - Ward 03
The pedestrian signal to cross 6-lane Ella Grasso Boulevard at this location is 20 seconds, which is more than 4 feet of crossing distance per second. The standard for areas in which children and seniors are present is 3 or maximum 3.5 feet per second of crossing time. This intersection is directly adjacent to Barnard School and is an important access point for West River Memorial Park. The ped signal should be timed to at least 25-30 seconds.
