  • 2321 Martin Luther King Oakland, California - Hoover-Foster
No garbage can. Neighbors throw garbage in the street or on sidewalk.
  • 2565 West St Oakland, CA 94612, USA - Hoover-Foster
People keep dumping garbage out front, they also put it inside the green bin so the garbage man does not take, then it sits out longer and people leave more trash around
  • 23rd Street & Martin Luther King Jr. Way, Oakland, California - Northgate
The homeless encampments at 2273 Martin Luther King Jr. Way & 625 23rd Street are GROWING. I reported this problem about 3 weeks ago but nothing has been done by the City. Recently, there was a shooting near the encampments at 23rd Street (http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?id=9477170). The encampments are a safety hazard to neighbors & passersby and are very unsanitary. Please address the problem SOON. (The photo is from Google maps and shows where the MLK encampment is located…the other one is just around the corner on 23rd Street.) Thank you.

Garbage was put in green bin so city did not empty, bags of trash put next to from laundry customers next door
  • 735 30th St Oakland, California - Hoover-Foster
The human feces previously reported at 735 30th was not removed when the garbage was cleaned up recently. It is still there and a new pile of garbage is growing. Please clean up.
    Thank you

I have had a series of issues this week with crime in our area.

On 9/15/2015, I was the victim of an attempted robbery. a man approached me with a sawn off shotgun and demanded my phone and my wallet. i refused to give him anything and urged him that this was not the right thing to do. he turned around and walked away. the police arrived within a minute of being called but were unable to find him after a sweep of the area.

the next morning, my girlfriend realized her car was broken into. they did not steal anything but broke her window.

today, 9/20/2015, My car was broken into. The criminal broke the back passenger door and looked through my car, opened my glove compartment and stole anything they could find.

It is absolutely ridiculous that all of these occurrences have happened and yet i have not seen any action by the Oakland Police Department. thee street is filled with broken glass and yet the city doesn't come to clean it up which just provides a basis for criminals to come by and break into cars. Even with a Armed and Dangerous criminal on the loose, i have not seen even the slightest increase in police paroling the area.

There needs to be pressure put on to the city officials and the Oakland police department. I am tired of being a victim and it is only a matter of time that someone becomes a vigilante to stop this crime.

I have decided to seek legal counsel to see if there is any action that may be taken against the city. Oakland needs to change if they want people to live here. and you can bet that the next time someone tries to rob me, they will be heading to the hospital since the police obviously cannot do their job.

200-298 Frank H Ogawa Plaza Oakland, CA 94612, USA - Downtown
Last night after 10:00 pm, I witnessed a woman being attacked by a man b/w the BART entrance and the triangular-shaped bldg at 14th & Broadway. Apparently, he had been following her and cornered her where it was dark. She had been walking home after work. Frank Ogawa plaza IS VERY DARK, and that spot is particularly dark at night. I understand that since Occupy, the city doesn't want to encourage people to hang out in this area, but poor lighting is a serious public safety issue. If my boyfriend and I hadn't been there to call out and interfere with the attack in progress, who knows what might have happened to that poor woman. Please increase lighting in this area immediately.

This area under the overpass is a constant problem: camps, tents, furniture, piles of trash and human feces with visible rodents and drug use - this area is a DISGRACE
