27th Street And Northgate Oakland, California - Pill HillThe homeless encampment and it’s associated giant pile of garbage is taking up the entire sidewalk on both sides of the underpass, forcing pedestrians to enter a traffic lane in order to walk. This is dangerous and unsustainable.
604 20th Street Oakland, California - San Pablo GatewayThese pallets, foam packaging, and installation instructions were dumped by Oakland city workers who were installing Lumec street lights. The installation pictures for the streetlights are in the trash. Everything dumped it in front of a PG&E substation. All the papers are blowing in the wind. This will attract more dumping inevitably. I'm thankful for better lighting on this street, but would like this addressed immediately.
625 23rd St Oakland, California - Northgate
I live at 625 23rd st., which is enveloped by a homeless encampment. Aside from the tremendous rat/vector problem, and other grave public health threats that this entails, the situation for pedestrians is now incredibly dangerous. There is a high level of reckless driving on 23rd st. and i am not able to safely use the sidewalk walking in either direction on my street. This is due to tents on one side of ,y place and a trailer parked at 605 23rd st. on the other. I cannot use the sidewalk, wlaking in either direction, and I have nearly been hoit by a car on more than one occasion.
This situation calls for immediate intervention.

604-648 23rd Street Oakland, California - NorthgateWe need street clean up because of the homeless encampment. It is the 23rd Street between Martin Luther King Jr. Way and Northgate Ave.
500-534 19th St Oakland, California - DowntownHow'd did Oakland let Uptown Art Park become an illegal parking lot? Can the city please stop this? The cars are damaging the sidewalk, it's cracked up and the utility boxes in the sidewalk are sagging and have become a tripping hazard.
Northgate Avenue And Sycamore Oakland, California - Northgate
The stretch of Northgate Avenue between 27th Street and West Grand is ridiculously dangerous. Cars exiting 980 routinely race through the intersections of Northgate & 27th Street and Northgate & 23rd Street. This puts pedestrians, particularly seniors and parents with kids, at great risk. Vehicle speed, as well as bends and hills, make it hard for them to see people crossing. There have already been many accidents and there will be a fatality if nothing is changed.
We need stop signs! This is inexpensive and will remedy the problem.
The City is well aware of this but has done nothing thus far. You can help get the City to act by doing three things:
1. Vote on this issue here (to increase its visibility)
2. Submit a service request through Oakland’s Public Works department at http://gismaps.oaklandnet.com/srwebsite/ServiceType.aspx. Selected “TE - Traffic Safety (non-emergency)”
3. Contact Lynette McElhaney’s office. She is the Oakland City Councilmember for the relevant district. Go here: http://www2.oaklandnet.com/Government/o/CityCouncil/o/District3/a/ContactUs/index.htm
The City has done a lot to encourage development in the area, which is great, but it needs to think about street safety too!
