  • 15 Winter Street Malden, Massachusetts - Malden Ward 4
This is the second consecutive house on winter street that doesn't have snow cleared on the sidewalk.. The property is steps from the Oak Grove T station and yesterday at rush hour, a half dozen pedestrians were walking along the shoulder of busy Winter Street to get by.

Not sure if this house is actually on Winter or Autumn st, but house on the corner has not shoveled Winter st sidewalk at all. Very close to Oak Grove so high auto and pedestrian traffic. Very dangerous.

Re: issue 6510319. Since the city won't allow us to comment on other posts, I've had to open a new one. The poster suggested making Autumn a one way. ABSOLUTELY NOT. For those of us who live on Autumn and the adjacent streets, making us sit through multiple light cycles at Winter and Main just to get home around the corner would be completely unfair. The idea has been raised before. Residents have been quite clear in their opposition.

The poster is however absolutely correct that the area has become unacceptably dangerous. I've seen the same reckless maneuver s/he describes more times than I can count. But the issue is a TOTAL AND COMPLETE LACK OF TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT at that intersection and more generally, city-wide. We need ENFORCEMENT of traffic laws against the people committing the violations, not rules that punish residents on top of everything else they are already being subjected to by commuters using our neighborhood as a shortcut. I have NEVER seen a traffic stop on Autumn. Literally NEVER, despite probably a violation a minute every day during rush hour.

We need a traffic officer at the intersection of Autumn and Winter please. Traffic has been rerouted due to construction on Main. As a result, traffic is backed up down Autumn as far as I can see. Rosemont is backed all the way to Main. Autumn is in complete gridlock. Residents are stuck. There needs to be an officer to hold traffic on Winter so that traffic can clear Autumn. Thank you.

Any update on the intersection at main/winter/forest?? Last I heard it was referred to complete street but someone is going to get killed here. Between cars jumping the light on main and now today I was stopped at the light on winter coming up from oak grove. We were the first car at the light and car behind us (a white lift car, happened too fast to get a license plate) decided they couldn’t wait and swerved around us and speed through the intersection down forest st. I believe the walk signal was on but thankfully no was in the two cross walked he bombed through. I see other cars use the bank parking lot to try avoid the light. Now supposedly there is a camera near the funeral home but do the ever review it??

I don’t know what the solution is but they have to take a serious look at this intersection before someone is killed.

What gave a city councilor the idea that she could have a weekly unpermitted parade on our city's streets in the midst of a stay-at-home advisory? The music blared so loudly this morning that I could hear it coming from two blocks away, absolutely shattering the peace and quiet of a beautiful Saturday morning. After finally driving off, they came back for round two. Thankfully, a police officer working a detail on the street came over and told them to turn it down. On top of it all, none of the participants were masked despite their commission of repeated social distancing violations. Is this the example from our city's leaders that the rest of us are to follow?

Meanwhile, while THEY are allowed to gather on OUR streets and create a disruption, imposing THEIR idea of "fun" on all the rest of us, OUR parks that OUR taxes fund remain closed, denying ALL of us the ability to enjoy OUR community as WE see fit, without any sound epidemiological basis whatsoever. Parents are being chased off baseball diamonds for hitting ground balls to their kids. Married couples are prohibited from playing tennis. Siblings aren't allowed to throw a football. Given the unreasonable and excessive restrictions being imposed on all of us, the hypocrisy and sense of entitlement displayed this morning by a supposed leader of our community was absolutely staggering. Open the parks. Shut down the parades.

In light of all of this, I have some questions: are we all allowed to have unpermitted parades? Are we all allowed to drive around the city with music blaring? I always thought that was illegal. Was I wrong? Or is there some special rule that allows members of city government to do it, but not the rest of us? Please let me know. Because if it is lawful, I would like to organize a similar event to be held on the councilor's street. I will gladly select the music. Do you think she likes Disturbed? Thank you.

ALL NIGHT, EVERY NIGHT THE NOISE FROM THE OAK GROVE MBTA PROJECT IS UNBEARABLE. CONSTANT BEEPING, BANGING, AND DRILLING. IT CAN BE HEARD FROM HUNDREDS OF YARDS AWAY. FOR MONTHS WE HAVE ENDURED THIS. IT CANNOT CONTINUE. RESIDENTS NEED TO SLEEP. DO YOUR JOBS AND DO SOMETHING TO PROTECT THE RIGHTS OF THE RESIDENTS OF THIS CITY FOR ONCE!!!
