Uncanned trash piled up in alley. Rat magnet.
  • 2000 Hanover Ave Richmond, VA - The Fan
Two supercans labeled for this address are on the N Meadow St sidewalk (this is a corner lot with a garage entrance on N Meadow). Our trash pickup day is Wednesday. It is Saturday and the cans have been out every day this week. In fact, they are out 24/7 all this year. Please investigate and end this violation.

Hello there is toilet left out by the trash cans in the alley to the left of my house if facing that needs to be picked up by 11 N. Mulberry Street. The owner of the apartment building continually just leaves all of his trash out in the trash cans that is not standard trash when repairing the building. Also across the street to the right of 12 N. Mulberry there are two trash cans repeatedly left on the street creating extra trash in the street. I have been advised tenants should not continually leave trash cans on the sidewalk, yet they are always left there and no one addresses such.Trash cans are repeatedly left on the street up and down mulberry street between floyd and main. Attention to these matters is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Yes this is a garage. Numerous vehicle have no tags and/or inspections stickers. A white van has been tagged and someone is living in the van. Also people sit along the wall facing W, Broad St. drinking alcohol and through their trash up under neath a maroon vehicle. The inoperative cars is a repeating problem. The people drinking on W. Broad St. is an eye sore to the neighborhood.

My name is Kurt Engleman, and I live in Unit 16 of The Fan Gallery condominiums at 1657 W. Broad St. The Fan Gallery backs up to an alley between W. Grace St. and W. Broad St. The entrance to the alley off of N. Allen St. is shared with the building at 603 N. Allen St. For some time, we have had an issue with trash receptacles being left in the alley at all times instead of the allowed window of 4:00 pm the day prior to trash collection until 7:00 a.m. the day after collection (per City Ordinance 2007-230-275).

This weekend, the supercans in the alley have been vandalized, and the alley is littered with trash, posing a hazard to pedestrians, motorists, and public health. For reference, I have attached a photo of the receptacles and litter in the alley as of afternoon of Sunday, July 08, 2012. Presumably, these receptacles belong to the owners/residents of 603 N. Allen St., as the owners/residents of The Fan Gallery use a dumpster that is located in the parking lot adjacent to The Fan Gallery. Note that refuse collection for 603 N. Allen St. is scheduled on Wednesdays, so trash receptacles should only be in the alley from 4:00 pm on Tuesdays until 7:00 am on Thursdays.

I would kindly request that the City of Richmond take the following actions:
    - Clean up the alley at N. Allen St. between W. Grace St. and W. Broad St
    - Issue a warning to the owners/residents at 603 N. Allen St. for refuse receptacles left in the public right of way outside of specified collection times

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Residents of the "Avalon" have dumped old furniture in the alley making it almost impassable. The trash cans are also not accessible due to the blockage. This is a continuous problem with this apartment building and residents.

A large pile of trash is located behind this residence. It has been growing in size for a couple weeks. I talked to the neighbors almost three weeks ago and they said that somebody from the city would be out to pick it up within ten days, that never happened. I have also noticed rodents (rats) taking up residence within the pile of trash. Shortly after that, I began to find signs that these rodents were in my apartment, which is right next to this trash pile. My landlord came over and laid traps and poison and a couple of days later I found a dead rodent in my living room. I need to pile to be removed as soon as possible, and if that means fines for my neighbor, then so be it. This is unacceptable, and I will be making phone calls daily until it is resolved. I have been more than patient with my neighbors and have reached the end of my rope with this problem. Below is a photo that was taken from my kitchen, this is the view I am greeted with everyday, it needs to end immediately.

There is a large series of potholes in the alley between Main,Cary,Meadow and Rowland. This issue was reported over four months ago and has not been addressed. These potholes make it very difficult for many people to access their homes.

This property has a huge problem with containing their tenants' garbage. There is trash including a package of raw chicken spilling onto the sidewalk attracting rats.

In tenants driveway. Has been here for months

The alley (behind Cary Street Cafe) leading to the parking lot is full of several large potholes.

This is a real danger to any non SUVs using the lot.

One blocks the entire alley and is too wide to drive over or around requiring cards to drop into a 6 inch trench. 113 S Mulberry street,Richmond,VA

At the intersection of Grace St. and Meadow St. there are two potholes, each about a foot across, that are very deep and hard to avoid.
