7 Monroe Street Burlington, Vermont - Burlington ElectricCrosswalk across Park St. to Battery Park is dangerous and could benefit from a flashing warning light like the ones installed along Pine St. and near Edmund's schools on Main St. Several times recently a friend and I have had cars waiting in two of the three lanes only to be almost run over by a driver not paying attention in the second of two lanes coming from the North on Park St. Cars from Battery St., North Ave. and Park St. typically do not acknowledge this established crosswalk.

Drainage issue Acknowledged29 Leddy Park Road Burlington, Vermont - Burlington ElectricOn the east side of North Ave, there is no drainage from Leddy to the shopping center intersection. The whole bike lane is underwater (or under ice when the temps drop). This section was repaved last summer, but the grading/drainage was not addressed at the same time so the pooling is just as bad as it was before.

Street Pavement Condition Archived152 Industrial Pkwy Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington ElectricThe patches from 2016 water project have become major hazards, with drops of 6+ inches. Trucks, trailers, cars are swerving to avoid, and or bottoming out. There are multiple spots on the north south stretch between Edlund and Austin Drive. Please install signage to alert drivers and schedule early season repairs.

607-709 North Avenue Burlington, Vermont - Burlington ElectricBoth sides of North Ave are in need of a sweep, which will probably require multiple passes to get a whole winter worth of debris out of the street. Especially in sections where potholes have been repeatedly filled with cold patch, the blown out patches and sections that have been ground down have all deposited enough material in the bike lanes that they're washboarded like a dirt road.

Transportation and Parking Improvement Request Acknowledged174 Home Ave Burlington, VT, 05401, USA - Burlington Electric
I do not know what the city can do other than build the Champlain Parkway finally after 4 decades, but until then if something is not done to deal with the constant speeding traffic and massive tractor trailer trucks that cascade down Home Ave at all hours of the day, someone is going to get seriously hurt or worse. Kids are scared to walk out of their front doors or walk to school because it is like playing a game of frogger every morning and afternoon at rush hour.
Why is the city and state so dysfunctional? Why can't they bring any large infrastructure project successfully to fruition?

Pedstrian Hazard Archived194 North Street Burlington, Vermont - Burlington ElectricWe want to make you aware of a situation that has been brought to our attention from several residents at the buildings 188 and 194 North St. A large truck is consistently parked in the handicap space to the left of the driveway that is causing a shield effect for drivers exiting and entering this driveway. We recently have been notified of several accidents (cars) and near misses (pedestrians) caused by this large vehicle being parked there. We want to offer a suggestion to move this handicap space to the corner of North St. and Elmwood Avenue or on Elmwood Avenue in front of T. Ruggs. We would like to avoid future accidents since the common denominator has been this truck that people can not see over. Please for the safety of everyone consider this move!

Sweeping Needed Archived311-327 Pine Street Burlington, Vermont - Burlington Electric
Bike lanes city wide are lousy with a winter's worth of gravel, silt, litter and other debris which pose loss of control hazards and crash hazards.
Streets with significant pothole issues, e.g. Pine St and North Ave, are significantly worse as all the pothole debris gets pushed into the bike lanes. In some areas this has formed gravel mounds that are inches high.

Transportation and Parking Improvement Request AcknowledgedNorth Union Street Burlington, Vermont - Burlington Electricthe obstacles scattered all along north union street to delineate the bike lane pose Major hazards for motorcyclist. why are bicycle riders safety ahead of others in danger? Motorcyclists are people too.....if evasive action needs to be taken, a Motorcyclist will be hurt terribly, a bicycle rider can just bail off without a 500lb object landing om them...
