Notified About

  • 197 Cambridge Street Allston, MA 02134, USA - Allston-Brighton
From getting off the Pike, until at least the traffic lights at Lincoln Street, what used to be two same-direction travel lanes is now about 1.5 lanes (full right lane and partial left lane) and two-lane travel is extremely hazardous. Have witnessed several near accidents as cars in the left lane swerve into the right lane to avoid jutting snow banks, or generally travel outside their marked lane due to their lane only being partially cleared for long stretches. Either better plowing or a temporary lane closure is needed to avoid an imminent accident.

There is a pothole that blew out my right front tire at approx 4:00pm today (1/30/2012) at exit 25 on I-95. It is in the right side of the left lane of the exit just as the exit begins to I-90. Getting a tow from the Pike home and then taking tomorrow off to get the tire replaced and an alignment was certainly not the way I envisioned ending my day. Please fix this pothole ASAP.
  • Damaged Sign Archived
    Cambridge Street & Interstate 90 Boston, MA 02134, USA - Allston-Brighton
As the two Pike exits merge together and then again merge onto Cambridge St, there are no signs indicating the merges. The new bike lane further complicated things as it is unclear whether the lane shifts or ends where the bike lane begins. In at least two places, lanes simply end. Signs warning of the merge / indicating right of way / displaying merged lane patterns are arguably a necessity for avoiding future accidents. Additionally, re-painting of the road lines is sorely needed (this should have been done when the bike lane was added, which itself already needs re-painting in many areas). Overall this whole area from merging off of the Pike exits, thru the first couple stop lights after that on Cambridge St, is very poorly marked for cars and bikes alike.
  • Jay St And Brigham Hill Rd Grafton, Massachusetts - Grafton
Traffic moves VERY QUICKLY ON BRIGHAM HILL ROAD - GOING BOTH WAYS - BETWEEN DEERNOLM AND KAY ST, JUST PRIOR TO THE MASS PIKE OVERPASS..... It would increase the safety of those who travel this area - by USING THE SAME PRINCIPLE THAT THE TOWN OF GRAFTON DID ON THE UPPER PORTIONS OF BRIGHAM HILL THAT INTERSECT WITH NORTH BRIGHAM HILL....BY PAINTING DOUBLE YELLOW LINES IN KEY AREAS ON THE ROADWAY, SO AS TO KEEP PEOPLE ON THEIR RESPECTIVE SIDES..... YOUR THOUGHTS????
  • Eastbound In The Right Lane On The Massachusetts Turnpike Between The Entrance To The Prudential Tunnel And The Copley Square Exit. - Back Bay
Very dangerous driving in the right lane on the Mass Pike going east just after entering the Prudential tunnel. Some drivers are swerving to avoid the rough surface/potholes creating hazardous driving conditions.

  • 99 Massachusetts Ave Boston, MA 02115, USA - Back Bay

A few years ago, Boston added a left turn lane from Mass Ave north to Newbury Street west and the Mass Pike ramp. To line up northbound Mass Ave's two straight-ahead lanes with the lanes on the other side, they added a dashed white line across the intersection to guide traffic to the left.

The line quickly wore away, and now traffic from the left straight-ahead lane goes straight into the right lane on the other side. This is dangerous, and effectively narrows Mass Ave to one lane in one of its most congested spots.

Boston DPW, please repaint the lane dashes across the intersection right away, and continue to do it each spring.
