The neighborhood families feel helpless with controlling the dangers of speeders on Lynnhaven Drive. Difficult to enter or leave driveways or walk or ride bikes safely during peak traffic hours.

Notified About

  • Hampton Roads Beltway Hampton, Virginia - Downtown
There are many invasive weeds growing here. These are Creeping charlie, Dichondra, and bind weed. There needs to be done before the fall grow spurts.
  • Interstate 64 Hampton Roads, VA 23664, USA - Phoebus
The problem with tractor trailers following too closely to the cars in front of them, and speeding, is getting dangerously out of hand on our interstates. Everyone needs to maintain a proper following distance but its especially important that such a large vehicle is maintaining that distance. I don't want to be in front of one of these large trucks and see nothing but their grill in my rear mirror because they are so close to my bumper. State police, please start ticketing these drivers for following to close before someone ELSE gets killed because the driver has to make a sudden stop and plows into (and through!) the smaller vehicles on the road!
  • 1 Pirates Cove Hampton, VA 23669, USA - Phoebus
Since Andrews blvd was repaved last year. Any time it rains or snow melts the water does not drain from the road at the end of pirates cv where it intersects andrews. When the weather turns below freezing this causes a icey patch. The contracter doing the paving did not grate this are to drain into the nearby storm drain.
  • Hampton Roads Center Parkway Hampton, VA 23666, USA - Magruder Area
Is it just me, or is the stoplight in the middle of Hampton Roads Center Parkway a complete waste? Instead of people who need to get to that business park having to drive an extra mile, the city puts up a stoplight in the middle of a heavily-used 55 mph road, making those cars come to a halt so that 1 or 2 cars can turn into the business park. To me, that is ridiculous, and that light should be taken down. Also ridiculous is the way-too-long merge lane to get on Hampton Roads Center Parkway from Magruder Boulevard. Why make a merge lane so long, but put a concrete barrier up so that you still only have a matter of feet to merge? This area should have never been messed with.
  • 2 Decesare Drive Hampton, VA - Northampton
The school traffic that occurs daily on Decesare and Grey's Landing is ridiculous. Cars conduct 2, 3,5 point turns on Decesare in between the curb/ fire hydrants and the side of our cars (while the kids shuffle their way to school on the sidewalks behind them). They use our driveways to turn around. They block our mailboxes in the afternoon while the mailman patiently sits and waits for them to leave before he or she delivers the mail. This area is not a child pick up/ drop off location. That area is at the front of the school. Why isn't the city protecting our quality of life? I've already had one vehicle hit. Is this just supposed to become common place for me?
  • Floyd Thompson Dr Hampton, VA 23666, USA - Magruder Area
THE TRAFFIC LIGHT ON MAGRUDER AND FLOYD THOMPSON DR STAYS GREEN FOREVER. IF YOU ARE COMING OUT OF DERBY RUN AREA OR NASA YOU HAVE A LONG WAIT. IF YOU ARE TRYING TO TURN OFF OF MAGRUDER INTO DERBY RUN AREA I DON'T CARE WHAT TIME OF NIGHT IT IS. YOU CANNOT TRIP THE LIGHT UNLESS CARS COME OFF OF FLOYD THOMPSON DR. PLEASE DO A TIME STUDY OR SOMETHING VERY INCONVENIENT!!!
  • Cunningham Dr & Hartford Rd Hampton, VA - Mercury Central
Lefthand turn signal on Cunningham Dr turning onto Hartford Rd towards Downey Green does not work; causing hesitation for drivers turning left, not knowing if oncoming traffic has a green light or still on red. May eventually cause an accident
  • 250-252 Fox Hill Rd Hampton, VA 23669, USA - North King St
I live in the neighborhood and have to use this light multiple times a day. It is INFURIATING how short the light is to make the left turn off of Bromley onto Fox Hill (or straight across onto Willow Oaks Blvd). Follow the rule of "unintended consequences", this is actually CAUSING a safety issue, as drivers are tempted to speed to make the light, and may be more likely to run thru it on red. Also, some drivers aren't very quick off the line and leave the people behind them stuck on red while they sail thru on yellow. Please extend the length of green at this intersection.
  • Lynnhaven Dr. Hampton, VA - Northampton
The speed limit on Lynnhaven Dr. is 25 MPH and people are constantly flying down the street going faster than 25 MPH. It is a residential area and there are kids in the neighborhood.
  • Big Bethel Rd Hampton, VA - Northampton

The turn lanes in this area are frequently flooded because the drains are filled with leaves in fall, pollen in spring and trash most of the year.
I know the street sweepers have routes they follow because the surrounding neighborhoods are fairly well swept and clean. Can the turn lanes be added to the route, and maybe extra sweeps in the spring and fall?

1alpha, don't tell me to close this blog, I will close it when I see a change or get an answer from the city, not you!

  • 1915 N Mallory St Hampton, VA 23664, USA - Buckroe
Busses parking in this area every date has erroded the area next to the road, creating low spots that no longer drain, further undermining the road surface.
  • Gray'S Landing Hampton, VA - Downtown
Parents dropping their children off at Gray's Landing need to take their kids to the front of the school like they are supposed to. "No School Traffic" signs should be posted throughout the intersection and up Gray's Landing.
