Crescent Lake Neighborhood

It's baaack. The invasive plant in the lake was raked out previously, but there was enough left behind for it to continue to grow. This stuff is like weeds - it just keeps growing and spreading. Is there anything at all that can be done to eliminate it completely?

For many years a constant "problem". Was not much of a problem until Crescent Lake Park became more busy. Crescent Lake Drive is busy and is often used as a cut-around traffic of the main roads as well as lined with more parked cars than ever. Many people park facing against traffic, sometimes almost every single one of them. Advice/signage/ticketing should be given for wrong-way parked cars. When they park on the wrong side it means they necessarily cross the oncoming traffic lane head-on while both parking and leaving.

This is the 4th time this request has come in and no one in the City of St. Petersburg codes department has responded or resolved the issue.

How does someone contact that person?

Owner is dumping / stucco /concrete into storm drain, no silt fence, dumps to Crescent Lake, stucco / concrete is actually starting to build up in base of storm drain, if I could add more photos you could see build up.

The black chain link fence around the big banyan tree had been partially removed to allow access to the tree during the First Annual Crescent Lake Festival on September 17th. When I walked by the tree a couple of days ago, I noticed that whoever put the fence back together did not do it right. The top rail pieces are not properly connected to each other and several are not connected to the posts either. Not only does that make the fence unstable, it also is dangerous to the ducks, and it will lead to the fence pieces rusting away as they are exposed; not to mention encouraging vandalism.

City crews have sprayed the aquatic weeds on December 1st and December 7th and several neighbors have asked for information on the solution/poison being sprayed. Regrettably no person in the city has responded.
We would appreciate and indeed deserve a response to our concerns

About 3 weeks ago...

I picked up 20, no exaggeration, 20 pieces of glass in the (appears to be newly dumped/added after construction) sand outside of the new fenced in play area just south west of the big tree by the play ground (outside fence). GLASS. Brown glass. Clear glass. Green Glass, even blue glass. Sharp, pointed, jagged glass. We have not been back since and will probably never go again. Very disappointed, as my toddler likes to dig in the dirt and he just kept running into glass. He was not injured, I immediately taught him after the first piece, to call mommy and mommy will pick it up and take it to the garbage can right by the bench. I must have made 15 trips to the can sometimes with up to 4 pieces of glass on some trips.

All sidewalks around the lake need to be replaced with track-like substance for the safety of high school cross country runners who have regular meets at this lake, and for the safety of walkers and runners who use this lake on a regular basis. This is a very popular lake and it needs to be safe.

The lights at the Crescent Lake Tennis/Pickleball Courts are not working. Maybe it got hit by lightning?
