  • 729 North 178th Street Shoreline, Washington - Shoreline
The entirety of the north side of 178th St between Linden and Fremont Avenues is overgrown with brush and brambles. According to the King County Parcel mapping tool, this strip of land is not private property. This area attracts people looking for a place to drink alcohol, do drugs, and dump trash. Neighbors collect trash as best they can, but the thickness of the blackberry vines makes much of the trash irretrievable. This week, one neighbor collected a grocery cart full of trash. I just collected 5 bags of trash, including many, many beer bottles, several syringes, and several hundred feet of abandoned hoses. We would like to see this vegetation cleared out and replaced with trees or other landscaping to be be maintained by the city. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.

Why every single summer since your redid the field a number of years ago with tax payer dollars, do you allow the field to be closed and locked in the summer time? This is an insult to the tax payers in the area who pay for the field, and should have access to it. Change your policy and reopen the field the the property tax owners paid for, and should be able to use.

It takes way too long to activate the pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of 170th and 15th. Would advise someone to recalibrate it so pedestrians don't have to wait too long for a walk signal after pressing the button.
  • 18190 Linden Ave N Shoreline, Washington - Shoreline
Shoreline has a drug problem. After calling Shoreline Police/King County Sheriffs on March 5 (who made arrest and cleared out an illegal encampment at 17900 Linden Ave N)... the remaining inhabitants quickly packed up and fled before police returned, but dumped a grocery cart full of used heroin needles and garbage on the shoulder on Linden Ave (east side), just south of 182nd. We regularly find piles of used needles, and occasionally human feces on this block, where there are regularly people living out of RV's or cars. Area is frequented by children from Shorewood High, and others in the community... as it is right next to Fred Meyer's market.

The locust tree in front of our house is upheaving the sidewalk and causing trip hazards. This is a safety issue. Please assess at your earliest convenience. Thanks- Garret

There is an RV that has been parked here with a flat front left tire for a few days. Growing concerned because now a car was parked to the west in the gravel lot over night too.

17518 Fremont Avenue North Shoreline, Washington - Shoreline
There are several maintenance holes in northbound Fremont Ave. between 175th and 185th that need to be adjusted to the roadway surface elevations. The holes are directly in the tire paths and set so far below the roadway elevation that drivers swerve to avoid them and damage to their vehicle. Drivers are swerving in the lane and creating a safety hazard as oncoming vehicles (and vehicles behind) are unsure of the driver’s intentions. Furthermore, this distracts the drivers and shifts their attention from driving in a safe manner.

Buckled sidewalk areas, lots of places one can trip. Can we get some cement & smooth these over so there isn't anything to trip on?
This was reported a while ago and it was forwarded on, but nothing further happened about fixing these and pedestrians can still easily trip. This is especially a hazard as the weather is rainy, slippery leaves accumulate, and in the winter when frost occurs. Any way to seriously improve on this?
    Thank you!

There are hundreds of used needles behind my duplex. I have seen two individuals camped out back there every couple days. I hauled out all cardboard and a chair last week and left it behind the Little Caesars across the parking lot.
My son has a window about 4 ft away from this activity, over the fence, and is afraid to be in his room when he can hear people right there.
I also have a dog that goes beserk when he hears them, and has had items thrown over the fence at him.
