The globes on Coffee Pot Drive do not have proper shielding for how bright they are. I was told by the City that these lights "These lights have a color correlated temperature of 3000k as recommended by the American Medical Association and the International Dark Sky Society and are consistent with lighting throughout the City". But the City fails to also mention the same AMA claims in the report, titled “Human and Environmental Effects of Light Emitting Diode Community Lighting,” that "Unshielded LED lighting causes significant discomfort from glare and...With any LED lighting, proper attention should be paid to the design and engineering features. LED lighting is inherently a bright point source and can cause eye fatigue and disability glare if it is allowed to directly shine into human eyes from roadway lighting."

I find it highly suspect these globes have 3000K temperature lights in them. The lights are BRIGHT and ruin the atmosphere of this once beautiful pedestrian trail. It is unwalkable at night with how discomforting it is. Show me where the datasheets on these LED's bulbs, what was done to the acorn lenses to mitigate the differences from the previous sodium vapor lights to the existing LEDS. I have no doubt the LEDs "COMPLY" with the lighting requirements but it is EXCESSIVE and potentially harmful to humans and the environment as quoted by the same AMA that the City quotes these lights were installed under. Fix the issue by addressing the problem. It is not a simple "well this is in compliance..." it is a quality of life issue that requires some aesthetic considerations.

This property has vegetation growing up past the windows almost to the roof of the house. First responders who might try to get into the house in the case of fire would have to cut through the overgrowth to even get near the windows. No other house in the surrounding area has such a deplorable yard. The last time someone complained, it seemed all the home owners were asked to do was to mow the lawn. Neighbors can't believe codes would allow the situation as it currently stands.
