My wonderful neighbor, who has basically adopted my wife and I as her pseudo-grandchildren, is in need of some help. She's 74 years old and has been a part of this neighborhood for 40 years. Now, in her later years, her roof and home have fallen into disrepair. I'm hoping that the city has a program, or that someone knows of a program, that helps our elderly population with home repairs. Her roof is in very poor shape. I'm pretty sure rodents are able to access her attic and that her roof is leaking bad. My wife and I think the world of her and hate to see her struggle. If I wasn't a blue collar firefighter and I had some sort of auxiliary income that could cover it, I'd do it...but, I don't. Here's hoping that someone knows of a program that will help.

This house is running an illegal business. They have garage sales 3 days a week. Looks like they buy things from estate sales and then resell them out of this house. The whole neighborhood is getting tired of it. I'm all for garage sales, but a hundred and sixty of them in one year is ridiculous. Shut it down.

Someone must realise that many of us do not have access from our front yard to the back. I love recycling but i have to take this container all the way around the block in order to use it. This needs to be alley pick up. Many in Old Ne do not have access to the front from the rear...are we supposed to keep them in front of our houses all week?

800 block of 11th Ave S. It seems that a few property owners are blatantly rejecting the recycling program. After upwards of two months, owners with alley access have never budged their blue bins from where they were dropped off curbside. City staff which is so confident of its plans needs to work with offending property owners so that the rest of us don't have to live with this unsightlyness.

5601 22nd Ave N St Petersburg, FL 33710, Saint Petersburg, Florida - Historic Roser Park Neighborhood Association
There is a terrible traffic problem for parents with children at this school - all related to unnecessary traffic signs and SPPD enforcement rather than taking the time and directing traffic during busy periods of the day. The exit from the school has two lanes and the street allows for a left hand turn; however, there are signs (very low signs) that say no left turn. Parents in the left lane are forced to turn left against the sign but in accordance with street markings - no other option at that point as a majority of parents turning right immediately make a U-turn on 22nd Avenue to head to their jobs downtown. After school parents are either in danger blocking traffic on 22nd waiting to turn into the school to pick up children or the park on side streets and risk a ticket for doing so. The police prey - yes PREY on parents at this school who only want to get through their day and drop off and pick up their children in a timely fashion - not contribute to the SPPD pension fund.

Outdoor storage of multiple items from a wood pile to tools and cabinets all stretched along the side of the house and even spills over to the neighbors property where he has a refrigerator sitting out close to the side walk.

Some jerk just drove up to the empty lot across from 1215 5th St S and dumped a pile of rock, yard waster and plastic planters

Planters in alley adjacent this property have not been maintained, have thorns on plants, and an obvious eyesore. Issue has been reported before. Who can be contacted about reasonable replacements?
  • 4015 Dr. Martin Luther King St S. Saint Petersburg, Florida - Historic Roser Park Neighborhood Association

Today September 30, 2017 approx. 12:40 PM I brought a trailer of Hurricane debris from my mothers home to the brush site located at 4015 Dr. Martin Luther King St S. The workers at 4015 Dr. Martin Luther King St S. asked me for my ID. I didn't have my wallet because I had been sweating heavily. He then told me I could not dispose of the yard waste because I don't have my drivers license.
I went back and got my drivers license and returned to dispose of my yard waste. When I arrived the workers asked me for my ID and I showed it to him. The worker then asked me where the yard waste was from and I told him the address. The worker wrote it down and told me to "park" my truck over by a recycling bin.
After 10 minutes I got out of my truck and asked whats going on?
The worker eating and on the phone said the other worker had gone in a government truck to check my mother's address to see if "HE" thought that is where my hurricane debris came from. Here I was being called a liar and being detained over Hurricane debris at the free resident brush site. I was stunned.

I waited about 10 more minutes watching other residents being waved in to dump debris without even showing ID while I was being detained by a sanitation worker like a criminal. I decided to leave because one worker was gone in the truck "checking" my address. The other was eating.

As I pulled out the worker in the truck was returning. He rolled down his window and said he didn't think the Hurricane debris on my trailer was from my mother's address and refused service a third time.
My address is not near my mother's house who is elderly and I was removing her yard waste from the Hurricane. I have read the online information about brush sites on the Sanitation website.

No where does it mention being questioned about my Hurricane debris. No where does it mention that I may be subject to detainment. No where does it mention that the workers have discretion on which resident may dump hurricane debris at the site we all pay utility bills to maintain. No where does it say on my utility bill or online anything about these issues.

The workers dared me to complain about my treatment so here it is for everyone to see. - 45 year old life long St. Petersburg resident

The front and side yard of the 800 house is completely covered in dog feces. If people want to live like that they need to fence their yard so we dont have to see it, disgusting.

Garbage can is at the curb in the front of this house 24/7. It has never been put away.
