I am a public watcher interested in fixing issues as quickly as possible after they arise. I don't "fixes" that do not permanently address the problem, nor do I want the fix to take so long that it creates an issue of its own.

  • 162 Old Gurley Rd Ne Huntsville, AL 35811, USA - Huntsville
Like Harris Hills. With Target, Best Buy, Kirklands, Michaels. It is a long way into town and this shopping complex would draw customers from Scottsboro and Gurley areas. There is NOTHING close by and located for those areas. And NO ONE wants to go to the Wal Mart on 72/Sparkman. Some Nice Sit down restaurants.
  • 3918 Hawthorne Avenue Southwest Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
Picnic table has been removed from its concrete pad. I know it puts it under the shade tree but it was not originally meant to be there.
  • 1798 Old Monrovia Road Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
Traffic circle has been in place for many years and numerous drivers still are not maneuvering it correctly. Providence Main exiting to Old Monrovia eastbound is the only traffic immediately allowed in the right lane but traffic in the circle from the other feeders often exits the circle directly into the right lane crossing the solid white line. Domed traffic control devices need to be installed along the pavement's white line to help direct traffic correctly. The white line has been repainted more frequently than other lines because of the right of way violations. See attached view; domes needed along drawn red line.
  • 7500 Whitesburg Dr Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
The only thing preventing this pole from falling into Whitesburg Dr is that the lines on the leaning pole are hitting the new pole. We know Huntsville Utilities can only move their lines. Why doesn't the city get AT&T, WOW & Comcast to move their lines?
  • Wall Triana Hwy Sw Huntsville, AL, 35824, USA - Huntsville

It looks to be that a contractor has been using an open area for dumping of dirt from a near by construction side (I am guessing somewhere out behind Dunlop Blvd - see below for more info)

Wall Triana from Dunlop to this dumping site is a MESS. Follow the red dirt road. It is especially a mess at the round turn where Wall Triana turns north but both North and Southbound outside lanes are covered in red dirt and dust.

The contractor looks to have taken a water truck to the ramp to try and clean it up, but it only made it all worse. They have been tracking dirt and debris into the roadway all weekend.

They need to establish a concrete clean off location at both the dumping site and where ever they are leaving from. Wall Triana should also be street swept and washed in some capacity. What is the point of cleaning your car if you get a nice red mist every time you drive through this area - which is the main entrance/egress to multiple subdivisions.

I understand the growth in our area, but the lack of respect for citizens/roadways from construction/contractors is getting a little ridiculous. Not to mention - many of these trucks have been hauling untapped with debris flying out the back which is a safety hazard.

This needs to be addressed. Both short term and long term.

  • 99 Thayer Street Northwest Huntsville, AL 35806, United States of America - Huntsville
This raccoon had been terrorizing the Village of Providence neighborhood for a month now. It is out during the day mostly around, Meeting, Battery and Braxton streets. Here it is for the third or fourth time coming out of our pool area garbage can. Please trap it!
  • 43 Hope St Huntsville, AL 35806, USA - Huntsville
This was torn up due to installation of the google fiber lines. They repaired with asphalt but there was concrete there. Request they put it back to concrete. Located behind 6 Beck Street.
  • 407 Holmes Ave Ne Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville

407 Holmes Avenue NE has a public sidewalk that is made of bricks and there are some areas where the bricks are not level creating a tripping hazard. 403 and 405 Holmes Avenue NE also have the same brick sidewalk.

The city code of ordinances states the following:
"No sidewalk shall be built of brick or of any material other than that prescribed by the Engineering Standards for Construction of Public Improvements (1991 edition) unless authorized by the city engineer."

The city needs to remove the brick sidewalks at the properties on Holmes Avenue that have them and replace with poured in place concrete like the majority of the street has.

Sec. 23-85. - Material for sidewalks.
No sidewalk shall be built of brick or of any material other than that prescribed by the Engineering Standards for Construction of Public Improvements (1991 edition) unless authorized by the city engineer.
    (Code 1982, § 20-85)

  • 10304 Essex Dr Sw Huntsville, AL, 35803, USA - Huntsville
Corner of Essex dr and buckingham. House has 2 shipping crates in yard along with trees cut up for selling along with house next door in Essex. Crates have bee there more than a year along with all the piles of wood in yard. Unsightly and breeds animals
  • Sidewalk Repair Acknowledged
138-198 Heritage Brook Dr Nw Madison, AL, 35757, USA - Huntsville
This stretch of the sidewalk has a 6 foot drop off on the south side of Heritage Brook. The builder did not provide a railing or fence to keep someone from falling off. It is especially dangerous for small children or anyone riding a bicycle. Some of the concrete sides have also broken off.
  • 9633 Dortmund Dr Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
Section of sidewalk has not been replaced after it was removed.
  • 103 Black Oak Dr Ne Huntsville, Alabama - Huntsville
Sidewalk dead ends - need ramp installed to connect sidewalk to street.
