I've heard & seen that the county has built bat houses. We have lots of bats in our area. We could sure use a bat house with these two lakes & the mosquitoes from them. Will the county build a bat house for this area.

VARY DANGEROUS INTERSECTION - OBSTRUCTED VIEW

Intersection of Haines Bayshore Blvd and U.S. Highway 19 - photo looks south.

Recent road construction has created this hazardous intersection - obstructions include aluminum walkway railing, white picket fence, telephone poles, temporary crossing light poles, political signage and even a bicycle that is chained in this space on a regular basis.

These visual obstructions make it nearly impossible for traffic stopped at Haines Bayshore to get a clear view of northbound US 19 traffic without having to pull forward into the pedestrian crosswalk ( and precariously close to oncoming traffic) before attempting to merge with oncoming traffic.
  • 1 East Bay Drive Largo, FL 33771, USA - Largo
When the line turns green, the turn right prohibited light turns on, which makes no sense. Why would you not be able to turn right when your side of traffic has a green? Perhaps the turn right prohibited should turn on when the light is red.
  • Thoroughbred Loop And Ulmerton Rd. Pinellas County, FL - Largo
With all this construction happening, is there anyway to petition to get a left turn into Cumberland Trace neighborhood? Or to get a U-Turn area? People have actively moved barricades to be able to accomplish this, it would be safer if we could simply build these in.

My neighbors and I are dealing with several nuisance cypress trees that are growing behind our properties (North side). The office complex behind us told us, that these trees are growing on an easement belonging to government.

These trees are aggressively growing into our properties at an alarming rate. They are producing knees that are sticking up in our lawns, damaging expensive lawn equipment and causing people to trip and hurt themselves by twisting their ankles. These cypress knees are also popping up along the fence line and damaging the fence.

The roots of these trees have grown all the way to our homes and are causing destruction to foundation, plumbing, landscape, irrigation and pool systems. I personally had several trees die, pool leaks and nightmare plumbing issues. I find it difficult to landscape my own property, because the invasive root system prohibits digging and building.

Although these trees are beautiful during the summer, during the fall and winter, they drop their brown foliage, and carpet my back lawn. There is no escaping this unwelcome mat of dense foliage. The tiny bristles get caught in my dog's fur each and every time she goes out, and it takes hours to comb out. The dog had to be taken to the Vet once, in order to remove a mat of tangled bristles and fur.

We would like these trees removed, and the roots killed so that the tree does not regrow. The cypress trees can be replaced with another tree like the Queen Palm, which root system does not spread out, and invade the properties adjacent to them. Whatever is decided to replace these trees, should be well thought out in regards to aesthetics, and the long-term impact of surrounding areas.
