Notified About

  • Jefferson Davis Hwy Alexandria, VA - Potomac Yard-Potomac Greens
The new Monroe Ave. Bridge is a great improvement except for the addition of a mandatory right turn on the north end. Car's coming north in the right-most lane are typically not seeing the few signs, and end up abruptly trying to move over into the left lane. They could change the highway markings to a solid stripe on the bridge and add a few painted right turns.
  • No merge area Archived
Interstate 95 & Telegraph Rd Alexandria, VA 22314, USA - Eisenhower Ave
There is no merge area when entering west I-495 from south Telegraph Road. Area is under construction and using temporary ramps but signs do no warn about total lack of an acceleration lane. Perhaps a full stop sign rather than simple yield until final ramps are complete.
  • BRAC-133 Archived
4800 Mark Center Dr Alexandria, VA - Alexandria Wrest
This building is very irritating, and it's not even done. It's a DOD project to consolidate workers from leased space in the area. It's not suitably served by public transportation. They even want to claim land in a neighboring nature preserve to build a ramp to I-395. As I watched this building go up I was annoyed that worklights burned in the structure 24/7 even when no workers were there. The attached photo was taken on a Sunday. Ironically this is a LEEDS "Silver" project which is supposed to be considerate of life-cycle environmental impact. This project doesn't make security sense by concentrating critical defense personnel in one, easy to find place.
  • 2901 3015 Mt Vernon Ave Alexandria, VA 22305, USA - Potomac West
There are cross walk lights in place but they are not turned on. As a walkable community we need working pedestrian cross walks so people know when it is safe to cross the street. It is not possible to even see the traffic light from the side of the street due to the angle of the lights.
  • 1663 Prince St Alexandria, VA 22314, USA - King St Metro
  • 3701 Mt Vernon Ave Alexandria, VA - Potomac West
No access to getting a drink of water at the Birchmere. Have to buy. Most city codes you have to at least have a drinking fountain available. Concert tickets 88.00 (2). Pitcher of beer 21.00 food 20.00 and I couldn't even get a glass of water I would have shared it gladly with my partner! If there water is undrinkable let people know. Isn't there a state or city ordinance against this?
  • 1820-1898 Cameron St Alexandria, VA - King St Metro
The city planted several trees along Cameron Street three years ago. They were never watered and died. The city subsequently removed the trees, but never replaced them. It would be great to plant new ones (and secure commitments from neighbors to help the city water them until the plantings are established).
  • Slaters Ln Alexandria, VA - Northeast
There are numerous, large pot holes in the center of westbound Slaters Lane. This creates a dangerous situation when drivers in vehicles taking a right turn onto Slaters Lane from the George Washington Memorial Parkway abruptly apply their brakes or swerve upon hitting the pot holes.
  • Seminary Rd And Echols Rd. Alexandria, VA - Alexandria Wrest
As Seminary Rd gets increasingly congested, it has become dangerous to turn left from Seminary onto Echols and this is the only way to enter my neighborhood. Several cars turn left per light cycle at this intersection. The green arrow is at the end of the cycle, which is a good thing, but it means that cars turning left often have to sit for 30 seconds while cars accelerate up to them and swerve around them into the right lane. Seminary probably isn't large enough to accomodate a left turn lane here (I wish so much that it was - I feel like I risk getting badly rear-ended here everyday), but it would help to have the left arrow at the beginning and the end of the light cycle, or a much longer arrow at the end of the light cycle. It's only a matter of time before someone gets rearended and pushed into oncoming traffic at this dangerous intersection.
  • Seminary Rd Ramp To 395n Alexandria, VA - Old Town
The on ramp to 395 from Seminary Road traveling west is in bad need of repaving.
  • Rt 1 N Ramp From Outer Loop Alexandria, VA - Southwest Wuadrant
Last winter, a car hit the barrier that divides the Rt 1 ramp off I 95 into the NB and SB route 1 ramps. There have been traffic barrels there for some time, but if someone else hits that same place, there's really no protection.
  • 1900-1916 King St Alexandria, VA 22314, USA - King St Metro
The tiles closest to the track have been falling apart during the past several weeks. This can not be safe!
