Notified About

  • 700 Capitol Ave And Highway 84 Overpass near Forest St - Frog Hollow
There is an illegal trash dumping site under highway 84 and Capitol Ave near Forest St. in Hartford Ct. There are old toilets, tires, construction debris and mattreses. The City of Hartford and the DOT refuse to acknowledge their resposibility to cleaning up this unsitely safety hazard. This area is very close to Hartford High School and is traveled by students. It is also a disturbng eye sore as you enter into the Capitol City. This is the imagine that most people see as they enter and leave into Hartford. The lasting imagine.
This area is on Capitol Ave under the highway near Hartford HS. This area is extremely dangerous due to uneven spaling concrete sidewalks, no lighting, collaping fences and rats.
  • 1-39 Hawthorn Street Hartford, Connecticut - Asylum Hill

Several months ago I reported that dangerous storm grates were being installed as part of the road construction associated with Fastrak station. It appears that the same style of grates continues to be installed. The grates have long slots parallel to the direction of travel and could cause a catastrophic bicycle crash. This style of storm grate has been phased out for obvious safety and liability reasons.

Curious how the contractor has managed to not correct this issue, particularly with design standards and a previous SeeClickFix report. The CT Fastrak project is clearly intended to serve more than car drivers, and I would expect the road projects adjacent to the stations to have special attention paid to "Complete Streets" design tenets.

  • Hawthorn Street Hartford, Connecticut - Asylum Hill

Several non-standard grates with long slots in the direction of traffic flow were installed into replacement storm drains.

Just waiting for an unsuspecting cyclist to get a front wheel caught and break their neck. There are standards in place for a reason. Whoever the contractor is, doesn't know what they are doing if they don't know the standards.

  • Union Place Hartford, CT - Downtown

There is an unreadable, unusable map on the lower, main level of Union Station. The image is so pixelated you can't read street names.

A couple friends rode the train up from New Haven last weekend and reported this. I've also seen it in person. They came to Hartford to go to the Twain house and had to orient themselves with absolutely no help from this terrible map.

You see stuff like this in the city and wonder whether anyone is actually serious about ever inviting other people to visit here. Having such a map in place sends a clear and obvious message to 'outsiders' that if you don't already know you're way around, why bother? If iQuilt signs are throughout the city, and it is about walking, then why not at Union Station? These friends, Brits, walked down Farmington to the Twain house with 0 help from the city's infrastructure. Nuts, and what a missed opportunity.

  • Graffiti Archived
33-35 Sigourney Street Hartford, CT 06106, USA - Asylum Hill

  • 2-40 Union Place Hartford, Connecticut - Downtown
At the corner of Union Place and Allyn Street a new sidewalk was installed. They removed the handicap ramp from the sidewalk and replace it with a 6 inch drop off. Not sure if the ramp was removed on purpose or installed wrong but it needs to be corrected asap. People with disabilities, the elderly and mothers with strollers can not use this sidewalk as is.

  • Capitol Ave Hartford Ct - Frog Hollow
    Reported from my mobile device
  • Asylum Street Hartford, Connecticut - Downtown
I want to get a hug pothole in the black asphalt sidewalk that run next to the train tracks in Bushnell Park fix. This hole has been there for years and every winter it fills with water and freezes creating a hug safety hazard. I've seen people in wheelchairs, baby strollers, and young children have trouble with this pothole. A lot of people use this walkway, even more now that flower street is closed to pedestrians, including kids walking to school. During winter it becomes filled with ice and takes a long time to melt and I've seen lots of people fall hard on it.
  • Asylum St & Capitol Ave Hartford, CT - Downtown
Sidewalk between Union Station and LOB (along the AMTRAK rail line) is very degraded at junction behind pavilion making it difficult to negotiate turn when riding bicycle.
  • Pothole Acknowledged
