11 Lake Pl New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - Dixwell
I could be wrong, but I thought visitor parking passes were to be used for residents having guests visiting at their home.
Yale students (last school year) and Yale employees (currently) who work at Yale Health on Lock Street have acquired visitor passes and use them on a daily on Lake Place. I have visibly seen students walk to and from campus to their cars without visiting a home on Lake Place and park overnight daily. I have visibly watched employees in uniform with Yale IDs park in front of my house Monday-Friday and walk into Yale Health. They park from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Lake Place. My house and the two houses at Ashmun Street are the only houses without driveways. The two Yale houses to my right park their cars (when they own them) park at Yale owed property down the street. These people who have visitor passes cluster to Ashmun Street forcing myself and my tenants to park away from our home. Of course, the Yale employees are not here during the weekend giving us some relief.
When the service station closed across from my home was closed, parking customers for that property were displaced. An elderly Yale professors’ widow who lived on York Square/Tower PKWY was one of those displaced customers. While she was arranging alternative parking, I allowed her to use my visitors parking. My visitors pass was fined $50 for misuse of visitors pass.
Displacement of the residents of 11 Lake place is unfair due to the misuse of visitors pass.
How can this situation be resolved?
43 Tilton - DixwellA pothole so large I've been considering keeping several goldfish in there.
146 Mansfield Street New Haven, Connecticut - Dixwell126 Mansfield Street condo residents mowed the grass, and raked all the clippings, together with the litter on the grass strip, into the street. It seems they really don't know how to handle trash, snow removal, recycling, and the public space. They have put out yard waste in recycling, left snow on the sidewalk for weeks, let the grass go without cutting for several months, not trimmed hedges, never picked up the litter, and packed leaves in plastic bags and put it out with garbage. Could the city give them some information about how to handle this stuff? Maybe a ticket would be a good start.

45 Woodland St New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - DixwellDisgusting garbage being eaten by animals. Chicken bones, personal hygiene products, are all dumped 2 feet away from my house by the Chinese AirBnB guests to the 3rd floor apartment at 45 Woodland Street. Someone needs to clean this up immediately. I am sick of the problems created by different irresponsible guests in and out of this building in the past 2 years. Is running a hotel really legal in this residential building? I also want this garbage area completely removed from between our two buildings, and put in the other property's huge parking lot. Where else is it OK to have one house's garbage up against the neighbor's house? Why do I have to live like this? Does Toni Harp have the same problem where she lives? Who do I talk to about this?
136 Mansfield St New Haven, CT 06511, USA - Dixwell3 days ago the street sweeper truck broke down, spilling some kind of lubricant in the street and in the grass strip. they lay down some dirt, but is has still not been cleaned. Today it will rain and wash into the storm drain and into the Sound. This needs to be cleaned up properly, and the contaminated soil on the grass strip should be removed. This is an environmental hazard and the state REP should have gotten a report.
153 Winchester Ave New Haven, CT, 06511, USA - DixwellI almost had an accident AGAIN pulling slowly onto Winchester, because all visibility was blocked by this white Nissan Rogue that is parked in the bus stop almost every single friggin day without getting a ticket. This is one of the many reasons I voted for someone new.

This Could Be Scantlebury Skateparklet.
From the application to http://couldbefund.com:
"Our project is a skateboarding parklette built within Scantlebury Park, intended to use skateboarding to connect the New Haven residents with the Yale community in an equitable way. Historically, the two communities have been separated both physically and socially. In providing a new space at the apex of several New Haven neighborhoods and Yale’s campus, this project offers a new opportunity for these communities to come together. Moreover, it positions the communities as equals. The project would be a joint venture between Yale University (The Yale Undergraduate Skateboarding Union & Schwarzman Center) and citizens of New Haven and be developed by both Yale personnel and New Haven residents. "
"Our project requires approximately 4,000 square feet of unused city land on Scantlebury Park. In addition, we will require a contractor and/or designer with experience in skatepark design and construction. We are currently working to gain the assistance of one or more members of the Yale School of Architecture to collaborate and assist on our final park design.
Both the Scantlebury Park location and skateboarding culture hold unique potential for accomplishing our goals because they exist at the intersection of dynamic communities of place and of practice. The park is situated in Dixwell, one of the city’s more underserved neighborhoods, while also on the frontier of Yale’s campus. Culturally, skateboarding is the nucleus of a creative community that values design, painting, photography, film, music and entrepreneurship, along with athletic expression. Geographically and culturally, this project offers a community space with uncommonly low barriers to entry and many thereof. "

This Could Be A Little Library
"We plan to build and install free book boxes (sometimes known as "Little Free Libraries"), stocked by volunteers and supported by the community, in various locations around the city."
