  • 146 Mansfield Street New Haven, Connecticut - Dixwell
126 Mansfield Street condo residents mowed the grass, and raked all the clippings, together with the litter on the grass strip, into the street. It seems they really don't know how to handle trash, snow removal, recycling, and the public space. They have put out yard waste in recycling, left snow on the sidewalk for weeks, let the grass go without cutting for several months, not trimmed hedges, never picked up the litter, and packed leaves in plastic bags and put it out with garbage. Could the city give them some information about how to handle this stuff? Maybe a ticket would be a good start.

I'd like to apply for an "Obstruction Permit" to park a moving POD on Mansfield St, Zone 7. The size of the pod is only 7ftx7ftx8ft but will need a 40'x12'x15' (LxWxH) clearance. To whom do I send the permit application, given that the office of Transportation, Traffic, & Parking is closed indefinitely? I have filled out the form ( but don't know who to send it to. Thank you.

    This Could Be Scantlebury Skateparklet.

    From the application to

"Our project is a skateboarding parklette built within Scantlebury Park, intended to use skateboarding to connect the New Haven residents with the Yale community in an equitable way. Historically, the two communities have been separated both physically and socially. In providing a new space at the apex of several New Haven neighborhoods and Yale’s campus, this project offers a new opportunity for these communities to come together. Moreover, it positions the communities as equals. The project would be a joint venture between Yale University (The Yale Undergraduate Skateboarding Union & Schwarzman Center) and citizens of New Haven and be developed by both Yale personnel and New Haven residents. "

"Our project requires approximately 4,000 square feet of unused city land on Scantlebury Park. In addition, we will require a contractor and/or designer with experience in skatepark design and construction. We are currently working to gain the assistance of one or more members of the Yale School of Architecture to collaborate and assist on our final park design.

Both the Scantlebury Park location and skateboarding culture hold unique potential for accomplishing our goals because they exist at the intersection of dynamic communities of place and of practice. The park is situated in Dixwell, one of the city’s more underserved neighborhoods, while also on the frontier of Yale’s campus. Culturally, skateboarding is the nucleus of a creative community that values design, painting, photography, film, music and entrepreneurship, along with athletic expression. Geographically and culturally, this project offers a community space with uncommonly low barriers to entry and many thereof. "

Negative racial graffiti located on the Canal Line behind 344 Winchester. I'm requesting that it be cleaned/covered up. The graffiti says:

"No Whites Allowed!" Blue spray paint
"We Rob the Yalies." Blue spray paint
"Get out whites." Black spray paint

Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Tilton St. New Haven, Connecticut - Dixwell

Please, please, PLEASE include Tilton St. in the spring repaving cycle. The road is in tatters and pothole patching is no longer a viable solution. The street scrapes up the bottom of vehicles and makes biking dangerous. It's a short residential street, and desperately needs repaving so that personal vehicles, Yale shuttle, school buses, and bicyclists can use it safely.

Tilton is a vibrant street: we have families, children, young professionals, graduate students, and empty-nesters. We are so proud to live on Tilton, and we want our road to be safe and neighborhood-friendly!

  • 2-16 Winchester Avenue New Haven, Connecticut - Dixwell
I have called both NH Transportation and NHPD to report that the stop sign that was at the corner of Winchester and Sachem has been removed. This needs to be corrected asap as it is a heavily used pedestrian crosswalk!
  • 172 Mansfield St New Haven 06511 United States - Dixwell
This sidewalk area is unkempt and difficult to pass. Leaves and debris cover most of the sidewalk (leftover from the fall) and the bushes extend out into the sidewalk making it difficult to pass. The section is on the side of a corner lot and is not well cared for by the owner.

Disgusting garbage being eaten by animals. Chicken bones, personal hygiene products, are all dumped 2 feet away from my house by the Chinese AirBnB guests to the 3rd floor apartment at 45 Woodland Street. Someone needs to clean this up immediately. I am sick of the problems created by different irresponsible guests in and out of this building in the past 2 years. Is running a hotel really legal in this residential building? I also want this garbage area completely removed from between our two buildings, and put in the other property's huge parking lot. Where else is it OK to have one house's garbage up against the neighbor's house? Why do I have to live like this? Does Toni Harp have the same problem where she lives? Who do I talk to about this?

the signs they removed and put back are falling over.
  • 58 Mansfield Street New Haven, Connecticut - Dixwell
The tenants at 58 Mansfield Street have not removed their garbage or recycling bins from the curb since the end of MAY, 2017. They are so lazy, they just fill the bins where they are, and then leave them there. FOUR MONTHS? REALLY?
