The sidewalk on the the side of Percival St. and Carmel st. is a total disaster. I have seen all types of people including the handicap in wheelchairs access the street to avoid this terrible sidewalk.
I have spoken to neighbors who complained in the past about this sidewalk and have got no answers from the City.
If the City of New Haven can take in refugees, give them shelter, food and love. The City should also should open its eyes & start taking care of its own communities that pay taxes to have good sidewalks and safe neighborhoods.
Tree branches on 2 trees are hanging low. Branches are being hit and knocked off by any vehicle lager than a car i.e. UPS/FedEx trucks, Sanitation trucks, oil trucks. Afraid to park my vehicles under these trees in fear of a branch falling on them.
Sidewalk repair/replacement going on on Goffe Terrace between Ellsworth and Colony Roads. The workers have dug up large piles of tree roots in the process. Near the corner with Ellsworth, on the N side of Goffe, is a young maple tree that is already stressed. If the roots dug up by the pavement work belonged to that maple tree it will probably die. Can somebody from Parks/Recreation/Trees please check that tree and feed it? Thank you.
There is a young tree with many shoots / suckers and low lying branches. The shoots (about 1" in diameter) are intertwined with many lateral branches, and both the shoots and branches are encroaching on the street. Additionally, some of the upper branches are thin, with less foliage than the rest of the tree. Please help to keep the tree happy / healthy, and to maintain the safety of cyclists and cars.
